Make It Sparkle is my latest class at Big Picture Classes and it is live today!

Twinkling lights, sparkling eyes, and glistening snow are all part of what make the Christmas season so special. In this class, I share techniques that will add sparkle and shine to your holiday cards! You’ll learn plenty of creative ways to incorporate glitter, gold foil, embossing powder, and more to any kind of project all year around.

This class is six lessons of adding gorgeous sparkle and shine to your projects. While I focus on cards, you can use these techniques on all your paper crafting projects! And we will be making holiday cards, but imagine the possibilities for every day cards, milestone birthdays, weddings or even anniversaries! I know you will love this class!

Many of the supplies you will need for the class will be available at Big Picture Classes, like the Heidi Swapp Minc machine, foils, and paper goods, but not all. So, below I am listing the other products I have used. These images will take you directly to the items in an online store, making it easy for you to find them and purchase them. Keep in mind, you don't have to use any of these supplies. But several people have asked where to pick up certain items, and I want to help you make the projects. The Birth of Jesus

2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to himand was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
    and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Rejoicing today in the reason for this season. The reason for us to be thankful. Thankful for His amazing gift of love each and every day. His love is a gift to every single person. Everyone. You. Me. All. Merry Christmas! May you know His love and peace and true joy.

Happy Holidays with The Craft's Meow

The peeks have begun! I am so thrilled to be a part of the release from The Craft's Meow this month! As I said earlier this release is all about Christmas! And there is something for everyone! For the next 5 days I will be bringing you cards! (at the end of all the peeks, then the stamps will be available for purchase)

This card started out with the tree. I stamped it onto kraft cardstock and heat embossed it with white powder. Then I added patterned paper, ribbon, and twine. Country style.

To color the tree, I pushed Distress Ink pads into my craft mat. Then I lightly spritzed each color with water. Using a paintbrush to pick my up created watercolors, I applied the color inside the embossed lines. Soft and subtle.

watercolor techniques with Gelatos

Welcome to day three of ideas and video tutorials using Gelatos from Faber-Castell/Design Memory Craft!

Here is a look at a card I created with one of the three techniques shown in the video. A watercolor background that has been stamped and heat embossed with gold powder. I love this look. Who knew *I* could be “artsy!?!” Its easy and you can be too!
