Paper Crafts Magazine presents: The 12 Designers of Christmas Blog Hop

This contest is now closed. Winners will be announced on September 21 at the Paper Crafts Connections blog. My winner will also be posted, here. Thank you for visiting!

PC20910

Its the most wonderful time of the year!! Oh, how I love Christmas and the latest special issue from Paper Crafts Magazine, Holiday Cards & More Vol. 5 has put me in the spirit!! The issue is available now and you can pick yours up HERE.

I am thrilled to have quite a few cards in this issue. Every project in this issue is amazing and I am quite honored to be in it! Making Christmas projects always brings back such wonderful memories for me. My family has traditions that go back to when my dad was born. Its truly amazing to see all my cousin’s children, along with my little man, participating in those same traditions. A big part of those memories include music. And singing my lungs out to Christmas music in July, while working on this call, definitely inspires me. :)

PC HCM Blog Hop Gift Bag

For today, we were all given directions to use to create a unique project, especially for this hop. You can download the directions for the bag I used today, HERE. You can see the original project in the issue: Holiday Plaid Gift Bag (p. 104) by Becky Olsen. This is a cute and easy to make bag. Its just perfect for a sleeve of golf balls, which in my family is very handy for the holidays! :)

PC HCM Blog Hop Gift Bag CU Tag

The tag on the front was made with Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament 2010 and a stamp from Hero Arts, from the clear set, Get Merry.

Here is the fun and best part of today! Checking out what everyone else has created! Look at this list of designers! Wow! Make sure and visit each blog and leave a comment, because you will have 12 chances to win an amazing prize, and if you leave a comment at Paper Crafts Connection, where you can see the prize package and the original projects that inspired this hop, you will have 13 chances! This just in!! If you visit Moxie Fab World today, you will get yet another chance to win, bringing your grand total of chances to 14!!

My favorite Christmas song is the Christmas Song ("chestnuts roasting..."). 3 years ago, the 5th grade chorus I was conducting sang a beautiful arrangement of it. They (and I!) worked so hard the first few months of school to prepare for the concert, and now I think of them every time I hear it on the radio at Christmastime.

Angela said...

Oh, I love the dies and that burlap-y ribbon you used! I love all the traditional carols, but my fave non-traditional song is "Everybody's Waitin' for the Man with the Bag" -- it's loungy and fun!

My favorite carol is usually "We Need a Little Christmas", but I'm also terribly fond of Good King Wenselas, and God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen (which was my Dad's pick when I was growing up).

There are so many wonderful songs! My favorite is "The Night Before Christmas" by Amy Grant. It just brings back so many memories of sitting around, prepping and singing with my sisters and my mom!

Another stunning bag! What a great blog hop. One of my favorite songs aside from the traditional carols is James Taylor's Some Children See Him.

Unknown said...

Without a doubt, "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives. Such happy memories of dancing with my grandfather.

Second choice would be "I'm Mr. White Christmas" from The Year Without a Santa Claus".

Or maybe the "Little Drummer Boy" which makes me cry every time.

The color combo on this project is so fresh and pretty! Love the berries, too. My favorite Christmas song....hmmmmmmm....That's a hard one. Probably anything by Mannheim Steamroller or the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. How's that for untradtional? For traditional, gotta love Joy to the World because of the message, the melody and the way it just makes ya feel happy.

Ellie said...

Call me silly but I love "Jingle Bells" and its just because that is the first song all my kids seem to have learned first and what is better then hearing your baby singing & each of them has given me a different version of them although the 2 oldest just look at me and swear they never sang those sangs that way...YES They did and I loved every minute of it Ha. This year can't wait to hear my 3 year old version!

Jenny McGee said...

Hmm, I like a lot of them. But, I think my favorite is The First Noel. Thanks, love your project too.

Kristin said...

Love the bow on your bag! I love the song 'Santa Baby'. It reminds me of a friend of mine that passed away about 7 years ago. It was his favorite and when we were at work, we would stop what we were doing, then dance and sing to it.

My favorite holiday song is Silent Night! I love it ever since I was a little girl. One year, my dad and I shopped at K-Mart for a gift for my mom, and I picked out this plastic organ music box with angels on it, and it plays Silent Night! My mom and dad still have that inexpensive plastic music box, and I love seeing it out in their home every holiday season! I even snapped a pic of it last year, and put it in my December Daily album! I'm so glad I did! LOVE your gift bag! Just gorgeous!

Cheryl said...

Your bag is so pretty! I love Christmas music. We listen to it periodically throughout the year in our house. Hubby used to be in music ministry, so he was accustomed to listening to and choosing Christmas music in September . . . we still listen even though we don't have to choose! I love "O Holy Night" because it speaks so clearly of the meaning of Christmas, and also because it is used for the lighting of the great trees (NYC and Atlanta). The tree lighting is something we really enjoy in our family.

thearthurz said...

I love White Christmas (song and movie) sung by Bing Crosby! I actually love so many songs, but this one came to mind!

Dru said...

Love the natural look of this gift bag - very pretty! I love all Christmas music, but if I have to pick one it would probably be "White Christmas" - we lived in a very warm area, never any snow and all the pictures and movies depicting a white Christmas always looked so pretty and inviting and Christmasy! Now I live in an area that usually produces a white Christmas and it is everything I dreamed of as a little girl.

Vera Yates (Ling) said...

I love all Christmas songs! Fond memories of singing "When a Child is Born" as a duet with my sister, back when I was a missionary kid living in Papua New Guinea, no snow in sight!
Love the gift bag, Kim - that ribbon is great!

This is just beautiful Kim! I have so many traditional favorites to pick just one, so I am going to name a non-traditional and that would be "Santa Baby" because it's fun and Cheerful and makes me happy!

Silent Night has to be my all time favorite because it reminds me of that special quiet of sitting in church on Christmas eve.

I love the simple yet elegant design of your box. Perfect. Christmas song choice-Winter Wonderland. In my Dad's family Christmas celebration a quartet of my cousins would always sing it as part of the Christmas program. Some years the harmony was better than other years. LOL

this bag is very old time holidays...I LOVE IT! My favorite Christmas song is "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" because just before my husband deployed to Iraq in Dec 07' ( also our daughter's first Christmas) he bought me a snow globe that played it. I'll always love that song most because of him. Thankfully he's home now to enjoy it with us.

My favorite Christmas song is "White Christmas" because it reminds me of my parents house when I was younger. Everything was decorated, snow outside, Christmas music, wood stove with chestnuts roasting on top, homemade soup on the stove, everything seemed so warm and cozy.
