Die cutting + Planner Pages

Honestly, I never thought about die cutting for my planner pages. It never crossed my mind. But my assignment for We R Memory Keepers was just that. Boy, am I glad it was, because I have a TON of ideas for incorporating die cutting into my planner pages!

I started off slowly. I had this cute, but basic bat clothespin from Pebbles, Inc. I added a die cut circle of patterned paper and a suuuper cute brad. Ok, cute idea. But what else?

Well, I wanted to layer this pre-made tag on the page. So, why not die cut a cute banner for more color and a change of shape? Done and more cuteness. Now this was becoming pretty fun!

Then I remembered this cool label tape and embossing folders I had...adorable borders with dimension! EEEEE!! 

Finally I needed to add a space for my days. I was going to draw them with a pen, but as I flipped through my stash of dies and saw some scalloped frames from My Favorite Things the lightbulb went off! I think I will be using these squares all the time! They add texture, color, and a whole lot of cuteness! For the complete details on this layout, visit the We R Memory Keepers Blog today!

These paper tassels were created with MFT Stamps Mini Fringe Die-namics. Fun, easy, and so trendy! How fun would these be on a Christmas package?!?!

MFT Stamps Kitschy Kitchen Card Kit now available!

The latest card kit from MFT Stamps, Kitschy Kitchen is now available! This retro-inspired kit is full of stamps, dies, inks, and card stock! Its once again a loaded card-making kit! 

The brilliant sentiments from the stamp set kick-started my card and then after I checked out retro kitchen images online, I decided on a color palette. I used a dark grey background stamped with the spoon image in a repeating pattern. Accent dots were added with a Distress marker and a Kirarina Wink pen. I love how the Kirarina pen pops off the dark card stock!

Then I stamped my bowls and then die cut them with the coordinating dies. How cute are they?! The bowls needed a place to "sit" so a strip of the same card stock seemed like the perfect solution.

Knowing I needed that strip of card stock, it became the place to stamp the sentiment. Oh, man, I ADORE this sentiment! A few flowers and other images from the stamp set were stamped and cut out by hand. So much fun! I cannot wait to make more cards with this fun kit!

MFT Stamps Color Challenge 57

It is a Color Challenge week from MFT Stamps! I love this color combo because it says holiday season to me! I mixed things up a bit from how I normally approach these color challenges and I am happy with the results!

Normally, I would make the white color be a base or panel color, but this time, I used it as an accent color on the branches from Bold Blooms. Yep, still using that stamp set, but it can create so many beatuiful looks, why not?! The rest of the card came together easily. It took maybe 15 minutes to make this card. One card done for the season! Yay!

MFT Stamps WSC #306

It is Wednesday, so that means its time for another sketch challenge from MFT Stamps! This week's sketch is once again fantastic, making card creating quicker and easier! I grabbed Bold Blooms and went to town creating a background with all the beautiful images. I had hoped to get a little more fall in color palette, but when you grab your favorite colors, the plans go out the window sometimes. :D

To add the vertical panel to my card, I went with vellum. It allowed the beautiful stamped background to shine through, but left a place for the sentiment to be grounded.

My sentiment is Die-namics Big Hello and I love Gravel Grey card stock! I tucked a couple of leaves around the word and added some clear sequins as well. Because, what is a card without clear sequins, right?! :D
