Happy Holidays with The Craft's Meow

The peeks have begun! I am so thrilled to be a part of the release from The Craft's Meow this month! As I said earlier this release is all about Christmas! And there is something for everyone! For the next 5 days I will be bringing you cards! (at the end of all the peeks, then the stamps will be available for purchase)

This card started out with the tree. I stamped it onto kraft cardstock and heat embossed it with white powder. Then I added patterned paper, ribbon, and twine. Country style.

To color the tree, I pushed Distress Ink pads into my craft mat. Then I lightly spritzed each color with water. Using a paintbrush to pick my up created watercolors, I applied the color inside the embossed lines. Soft and subtle.

sneak peek at Reverse Confetti's latest

As always, it is so much fun to be able to share some peeks at the latest sets from Reverse Confetti with you! There are so many people sharing projects, so be sure and head over to the Reverse Confetti blog for links to everyone!

Look at these Halloween stamps! I could not love them more. No joke, I squealed with excitement when I first laid eyes upon this cuteness! My first thought was make treat bags and that is what I created.

I started by stamping canvas bags from Paper Source. The polka dots are from Reverse Confetti Whole Lotta Dots. Then I stamped the cat and spider web from Spooky Cuties.

I did not stamp these with fabric ink. For this type of application, meaning, I won't be washing these, Tsukineko Memento works perfectly. Remember to stamp with heavy, but even pressure when stamping on surfaces like these.

Then I moved onto the tag. (Which is for another post. I am also in love with that die template! Stampin'Up!) Look at the sentiments from Spooky Sentiments! Man, these are well done. Perfect for cards and other projects! Seriously, I am not sure how much more I can gush!

And another look at the second bag. These were fun and easy to create. And will be perfect for teachers!

Look at the genius of this set!!! I have been DREAMING of a set like this for SO long!! Jen designed great sentiments, perfect for that subway style we all love, but these words mix and match! Check out all the combinations above! Isn’t it brilliant?!?!

I felt like I just HAD to make a cake box. This one was digitally cut from kraft cardstock using my Silhouette. To make the box match the patterned paper on the card, I simply stamped the top image from Whole Lotta Dots onto the box before I assembled it. Isn’t it cute?!?!

festive 4th banner

Just wanted to share a little project I have been working on for our house. Now that I have this new chalkboard, I wanted to have little decorations to add to it for the different seasons and holidays. I thought this little banner would be so cute on it! (now I need to get a 4th of July sentiment on the chalkboard!!)

For the pennants, I die cut canvas with Spellbinders Nested Pennants. Then each pennant was painted with Martha Stewart Wild Blueberry craft paint. (love that stuff, it covers all surfaces)

To create the stars, I created a stencil. Using thick card stock, I die cut the same pennant shape I used on the canvas. Then I punched out stars. It fit perfectly each time and all the stars lined up exactly the way I wanted.

Holes were punched in each top corner with a CropODile and it was strung onto twine.

The lanterns are a cute dollar bin find at Michael’s (while filming in Denver, Susan Opel and I HAD to make a Michael’s run. LOL). Using Martha Stewart (Wedding White) craft paint again, I painted every other inset. Keep in mind, these don’t match up in the back because it is actually a spiral, but who will ever see the back? ;)

The lanterns are hung from the main piece of twine with twine tied into a bow. I like how easy it is to remove the pennants or lanterns, or to add or change the length of this banner for whatever space I choose to hang it. Simple and cute. That makes me happy.

hello yellow

This card is just full of fun. Fun piles of pieces laying on my desk that all came together. The white tag is a resist die cut tag from Heidi Swapp and Pink Paislee.  The way the tag is cut, made this the perfect way to attach some May Arts ribbon.

The flower and leaves are from Avery Elle’s set, Petals and Stems. It was stamped onto white cardstock and heat embossed with gold powder. The powder is Zing from American Crafts. It has a touch of glitter in it, so the shine really pops. It took a wee bit longer to heat than other powders I have used before. But I love the coverage and color.

Christmas crafting

Sorry it's been quiet around here, but I bet you are also enjoying the holiday season and all the preparations that come with it! It's been great baking and shopping and wrapping. This year it is tougher with my hands still being sore and me getting tired so quickly. Guess it just makes me stop and do the most important things first and the rest, well, doesn't really matter.

Being inspired by many pins on Pinterest, I felt the need (hahaha) to finally decorate these comes from Michael's Arts and Crafts. I purchased the smaller two sizes and it was a good pick. Easy to manage and they fit in quite a few places around the house.
I used trims from Michael's and May Arts to wrap around each cone. They are my favorites in my stash, so why not use them on a big project!?! :)

Well I am signing off for the rest of the holiday season. Except for a post on Christmas Day for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Which you HAVE to check out! It's a cute holiday project!

CardMaker blog hop: Graceful Leaves

Welcome to another CardMaker Magazine blog team hop! Its that time of year; chilly mornings, Salted Carmel and Pumpkin Spice drinks at Starbucks, soups, and sweaters. It all means fall. And with as hot as summer was, the cooler temperatures will be greatly enjoyed! We are all focusing on leaves, and golden colors. Do you think I followed the rules? Of course not. Sigh. That is how that happy little gold leaf ended up on this card. But, like usual, it’s a happy accident!



The leaves were die cut and embossed from patterned paper using Spellbinders Fall Foliage. The edges were inked. One of the leaves was covered in Crafty Power Tape and then Stampendous! Crushed glass glitter was poured on generously. Gently burnish the glitter into the paper and there you have a very pretty leaf! (I am thinking this look could be perfect for Thanksgiving home and table décor.)

And check out the background. Several leaves from JustRite Stampers Autumn Words were heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It made a beautiful effect and added a lot of depth.
