let's flamingle

Is there anything better than a punny card? Well, maybe a card with a flamingo! For this week's
We R Memory Keepers design team project, I used the new Word Punch Board and Happy Jig. The new Word Punch Board will rock your card making, scrapbooking, and planner world!!! Any words you want, punched out from any papers you want. Yessssssss!
Feeling all beachy and summery, I knew I wanted to create a flamingo with the Happy Jig wire tool. The instructions for the flamingo come in the instruction booklet included in the tool. How cute is that?! Having this adorable embellishment required a great sentiment, but I did not have any stamps that worked. Which is where the Word Punch Board came in awfully handy. DIY sentiment. Whoop!

Add in some sand paper for the beach texture and you have one fun card to mail to someone! For more details, visit the We R Memory Keepers Blog.

P.S. I hope you are following me on Instagram the handle @kimberlystamps! I share so much there. With the stories feature, I try and share small clips of projects and tools, plus a ton about our garden and whatever else is happening. To make it super easy, there is a button you can click on the right side of my blog that will allow you to follow me instantly. I would LOVE to see you there! :D

Wavy Summer Shaker Card

Ahhh, the lazy days of summer are here! The time we wait for all year long! When I think summer, I think lakes and pools and about cool refreshing blue. With those images vividly in my mind, I created this card for the We R Memory Keepers blog.

Using the Fuse Tool, I created a unique shaker card, with waves! For all the details on how to create this fun card, visit to the We R Memory Keepers blog and check out out the tutorial.

cards for summer layout inspiration

Ahhh, the waning days of summer. The evenings are cooling off quicker. The days are getting shorter. I am not ready to let go of summer just yet, so I thought I would share a few summer cards with you. These cards feature some fantastic dies from Echo Park Paper and Carta Bella. And while you might not be sending too many more summer cards, I imagine you have quite a few summer photos waiting to be used on layouts, so use these ideas to inspire your scrapbook pages! Look at it as a way to hang on to summer a bit longer!

When I saw Designer Dies Summer Sandcastle, I KNEW I wanted to cut it from fine gauge sand paper. Yes, you can cut sand paper with your dies! I have to admit that it turned out way cooler than I even imagined!

Behind the sand castle, I stamped the palm trees in a pale blue ink. When stamped on the patterned paper, it created an amazing background for the castle!

My obsession and love for anything pineapple was increased immensely when I saw this new die from Carta Bella! The die set has three layers, the top, the body, and the very cool overlay that adds all the dimension you see here! I paired the image up with a sweet mini theme kit, Island Paradise. Anyone else want a tropical drink next to the pool now?

And finally, what may be my favorite paper line ever, and hands down the best summer line ever, Carta Bella Beach Day! The bright colors and retro beach vibe make it one of those lines I will buy two of everything, to hoard and then to use again and again! :D

After layering together my favorite papers, I wanted to use the Hibiscus Flower die set. I cut it the layers from card stock and assembled the flower. Super easy and look at the fun layers! Then I wanted to take it one step beach-ier (I am making up a new word, ha!) and placed the flower on a chipboard surfboard. Totally tubular. :D

The coolest part about all of these cards is, the ideas and elements can be easily used to create layouts or even photo pocket pages! Take these fun ideas and use them on your next summery project! Here's to the end of summer!
