Happy Thanksgiving! Handmade Napkin Rings tutorial

Happy Thanksgiving! I wish you and yours so much love and happiness this entire holiday season!

Since we moved far from family almost 10 years ago, my parents have been coming to our house for  Thanksgiving. We love hosting them and having them here. And we also love to cook and entertain. Each year I try and add a special touch to the Thanksgiving table. I always feel like making something adds love and warmth  to the table that you cannot find in a store.

This year, I added a simple wooden tag to the napkins using the We R Memory Keepers new Singe Quill and the Freestyle Pen. Both great tools that make quick work of making something special and heartfelt. Visit the We R Memory Keepers blog after your meal and enjoy adding this idea to your plans for next year!

pockets full of thanks

Can we ever give enough thanks? Can we ever say thank you enough? I certainly do not think so. As we enter this season of thankfulness and gratitude, the time to express our thanks is at hand. No reason not to send someone a handmade card telling them how much they are appreciated! My assignment this week for We R Memory Keepers was exactly what I needed to create. When those stars align, it always makes for beautiful projects because of the love behind their creation.

I have been hoarding or saving or whatever you want to say, this paper from Pebbles for a loooong time. The paper is full of beautiful tags with words of thanks. When I got the new Pocket Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers, I FINALLY had the perfect way to use those tags! By creating pockets on my cards, I had a place to put the tags. The Pocket Punch Board is crazy easy to use, and like all their awesome tools, it comes with a guide to help you create pockets in just about any dimension you could possibly need!

Visit the We R Memory Keepers blog for more details on these cards and the tools. Plus, you know me and how I love to ramble on and make bad jokes that only I laugh at. Ha!

giving thanks; guest designing for We R Memory Keepers

I am thrilled to be guest designing for We R Memory Keepers this week!! The focus on the We R Memory Keepers blog this week is all about their fantastic tool, the Banner Punch Board. I was skeptical at first. Once I used it and realized how easy it was to create three different styles of banners, in any size I wanted, I was hooked!

I am sharing two different projects on their blog today. This wood wall hanging is perfect for Thanksgiving home decor. I also made a banner, with lots of gold foil, also meant for Thanksgiving decor. Once Halloween is over, these pieces are going up in my house! The papers and other embellishments are from We R Memory Keepers newer line, Wildflower. Its a beautiful collection with gold foiled pieces. No need to tell you how much I love that!

Be sure and visit their blog all week as they share some fantastic projects highlighting the Banner Punch Board, check out more details about my projects, and say hi to me!

Thanksgiving treats and table

Hello everyone! Happy almost Thanksgiving! Today is a fun post because I am also posting over on the Paper Crafts Connection blog! Haven't been there yet? I will wait until you come back.

I know Thanksgiving is tomorrow, but I wanted to share some of the fun projects that we have been creating for our table. And my son being able to help me is the best part about these projects.

I wanted to have acorns to decorate the table, but sadly, I could not find any that I wanted to use. But I did find these super cute treat acorns on Pinterest! And my family loves chocolate. Loves. Their love is legendary. Seriously.

Acorns:
  • Nutter Butter Minis
  • Hershey Kisses
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Chocolate Frosting
Apply a small (tiny, minuscule) bit of frosting to the base of the kiss. Place it on the cookie. Let sit for a few minutes to set up. Add a tiny bit of frosting to the mini chocolate chip (I know, crazy, right?) and place it on the top of the cookie.

I am not telling you how many of these my son and I ate during the trial and error period...

To continue the table decorating, I placed the acorns inside a glass jar. (They might lose their mini chocolate chips, but I am guessing no one will complain.) The patterned paper leaves were die cut and stamped with I Give Thanks from Technique Tuesday. The banner and sentiment are also Technique Tuesday. Use some twine to tie them to the jar. Quick and easy. And yummy!

One last project...loving all things chalkboard and gold, I created these mini frames. The wood is an ornament from Michael's that I spray painted gold. The chalkboard is Chalkstock adhered to the back of the wood frame. I wrote the words with a white gel pen. I like it, but I am considering cutting vinyl with a cool font instead. Guess that gives me something for next year!

Be sure and stop over to the Paper Crafts Connection blog because I have a give away, along with some more table decorating ideas. I will be sending a prize package off to some lucky reader, full of fun goodies from my stash. Leave your comments there to be entered.

And it is the last Wednesday of the month, which means its Go-To-Gal Designer Challenge day! I am out this month with our trip and a sick little man, but be sure and check out the rest of the amazing team!

thanks for stopping by!
