Hay, Girl, Hay! MFT Stamps Release Replay

Release Replay. The chance for the members of the MFT Stamps design team to play even more with the gorgeous new release. September was full of so much goodness and I am excited to share another card with you featuring several new products!

First off, Llama Love and the coordinating Die-namics Llama Love crack me up. The sentiments are perfectly punny and the sassy llama will make anyone smile. Not to mention how truly trendy this set is! This card is completely inspired by a pillow I saw at Target a few weeks back. While it had a camel on it, the tassels and colors were spot on for using with Llama Love.

As a background for my llama, I die cut a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock with Die-namics Stitched Scalloped Basic Edges. Such fun design elements to add to a card and that sweet scallop is perfect! I masked off the cut card stock and stamped the new background image, Lined Up Dots, with Cornflower Ink.

Then, I added these adorable tassels! I used Die-namics Mini Fringe to create them. So easy to do! For a video tutorial, visit: Creating Paper Tassels on MFT Stamps YouTube channel.

sweet kittens

Welcome to the Release Replay challenge with the MFT Stamps design team! The April release was amazing, as always, and we are here to share more inspiration with you, now that your boxes have started to arrive! Better order take-out for dinner so you have plenty of stamping time! :D

I had to take out Cool Cat and Cool Cat Die-namics again. These images remind me of my kitty. And if I am being honest, the fat, er rather, fluffy image cat would be more like mine! But who can resist these sweeties?!

I chose the stamp, then die cut option, for my images. With the new open dies from MFT Stamps, you can choose which way works best for you! I love stamping a page full of the images, coloring while the little man is at swim practice, and then die cutting them when I am ready to make a card.

I used my color pencils to color everything, including a shadow underneath the image. While my foam adhesive underneath adds a shadow in real life, I wanted to be sure to not leave my images floating.

To create the gingham cloth, I drew lines with two different shades of blue. For the basket, I drew the weaving lines the same way. Its fun to add those touches when you are coloring.

Then the perfect finishing sentiment. I have a few friends who definitely deserve to get this card!

using small stamps to create a big focal point

Release Replay is when the MFT Stamps design team shares another project using products from the latest release. With all the beautiful stamps and dies, we don't always get to share our ideas with you. Today's post is the perfect place to do just that!

Whimsical Greetings was one of the new stamp sets that I did not get a chance to share with you during the release. Its a new set from Lisa Johnson Designs. The set has fantastic sentiments along with a few trendy design elements that I featured here.

Small design elements can often be difficult to use on cards. The trick is how to balance the space of the card with the scale of the image. With my card today, those elements stand out and create a focal point. I cut several colors of card stock with Die-namics Circle STAX Set 1. Then I stamped each of them with different images from Whimsical Greetings. Heating the images with white embossing powder creates a cohesive grouping. All of that technical stuff equals a really pretty card, ready to send to someone to brighten their day!
