organization: card stock, patterned paper, stencils

Second favorite supply behind stamps? Paper! Especially all this beautiful card stock! Look at the gorgeous colors! I store my 8 1/2 x 11" card stock in wooden magazine holders from IKEA. The sturdy structure of these holders keeps the paper flat and without bent corners. Yay! And it looks pretty all sorted like this!

On the right, I keep all the other papers. Watercolor paper, acetate, the glitter and foiled card stocks, and other specialty papers. Again, these papers are all within easy reach.

The patterned paper pads that MFT Stamps has been releasing each month have been fantastic! I love them so much! During the back to school shopping times, I found a couple of these mini storage crates. They perfectly hold the 6x6 pads. I try and keep them less than full, to allow me to flip through the papers more easily. When I have scraps left of the patterned papers, I place them in the back of the paper pad.

organization: dies

My die storage is very similar to my stamp storage. Same refrigerator bins, same pockets. And it works well. Really well!

I keep them stored on magnetic sheets. There are a couple of sheets. The first is the one that some of the die sets come on when you purchase the set of dies. The second is magnetic vent covers that you can purchase at your local hardware store. It can be cut down to size. The final one is my favorite, magnetic pieces, made to fit the MFT Stamps storage bags! I still trim my down, as you can see, but I love that they are ready to be used! (And yes, I am frugal with my organization. I want to spend on stamps and good stuff too!)

I sort my dies like this:
Circles-every variation, including frames
Squares
Rectangles
Ovals
Stars
Hearts
Fishtail Flags
Favorites-my personal favs
Nature
Borders
Blueprints
Tag Builder Blueprints
Cover Ups
Random
3D

I keep the dies that coordinate with stamps in the same pocket as the stamps. I find it makes things easier for me.

organization: stamp storage

Today's organization topic: stamps. The heart of my creating. The tool I use on pretty much every single project I make! I adore stamps!

Most of my stamps live in plastic bins that are intended for refrigerator storage. They work well for holding the stamp sets, especially when the stamps are in these pockets.

These plastic pockets, available in the MFT Stamps store, come in large and small sizes. I really like that I can also slip any coordinating die templates into the pocket. I find it helps me keep track of my images better.

I sort my stamps by topics that make sense to me:
Sentiments
Florals
Background-clear and red rubber
Birthday
Cute coloring images
Valentine's Day
Halloween
Holiday
Winter
Fall
Travel
Random

You can see some of the stamps sitting on a shelf next to my desk in my office. The majority of the stamps are in baskets behind my chair, within reach. I cannot show you that view, too many secret products living over there. :D

I do keep my new release stamps in a basket on my desk. While, this may not be something you need, I do find that if I keep my favorite stamps, or stamps that I want to use soon, in sight, I actually use them. And yes, that is the March release in the basket. :D

For my red rubber background stamps, I use a large refrigerator bin and then on the left I found a new basket. The basket is plastic and from Target. The look of it makes me much happier! While it needs to be functional, I do like my storage to be pretty. The basket on left from Target comes in several colors.

organization: ink

Its that time of year again. Time to get organized. Out with the old. In with the new. (hoping that Santa was good to you and fulfilled all your crafty dreams) This week the MFT Stamps Design Team will be sharing their crafty spaces. Their organization. And lots of great tips for you! Everyone has such great and unique ideas, my room always gets a spruce up!

Today's topic; ink. As you can see, being a stamper, I have to keep my inks right in front of me. Right were I can grab them easily. In fact, you will notice during this week that I keep everything I use most, with reach. My work time is precious, so it has to be efficient. :D

These ink stands are from Stamp-n-Storage. I have two of them. Both are fantastic. I purchased the smaller one first. Had I known how much I was going to love it, I would have bought the larger, twice! This unit holds my pads and my reinkers. LOVE that!

I keep all my ink types together. Meaning my dye inks are all together in a rainbow order. And then my hybrid and pigments inks, same order, just separate rows. I typically go from darkest to lightest in each tone. In trying to figure out why I keep them separate, I cannot come up with a logical answer. Apparently my type-A runs deep. :D

Organization for Your Creative Space; Color Mediums

Its time for another organization post from the MFT Stamps design team! This month we are talking about and showing photos of how we all organize our color mediums. Color mediums come in so many shapes and sizes, its not always easy to come up with ways to store them, so click on through and check out how a few of us store ours! I hope you are inspired and see an idea that will work for you and your creative space!

First up, my color pencils. I keep them in a small bucket from the Dollar Spot at Target. Its a great place to find inexpensive storage solutions. And its red. Of course its red. Red is my favorite. Pick the color that works for you and coordinate your space.

Next up, Distress Markers and paint brushes. Another pail and a small jar. The pail is from IKEA and the jar well, its cute, but I have no clue where it came from. See, even your own stash can hold some treasures! The small baskets hold my Mini Ink Blending Tools and Foam Pads.

All of these items sit atop my ink storage, as you can see. I do that because I work in my space. Keeping all my most-used supplies within easy reach is pretty important to me.

Gelatos and pastes are kept in this storage bucket. This is on a shelf to the side because I am not using these mediums as much. But because that could change at any moment, the buckets and pails make moving my color mediums easy.

Copic Markers and refills are kept in drawers and my paint is in a basket. On my shelves, where these color mediums sit, is several of these baskets. Another Target Dollar Spot find.

The drawers that hold my Copic Markers are from WalMart. I found these 5 drawer storage units in the bathroom storage section.

And one last note about color mediums, as am I sure you noticed in all my photos, I keep a color chart with all my tools. For me, its important to see each color. I can also place cardstock next to these color swatches and see if they will work for my project or not. Its a great resource that takes just a little bit of time to create and keep current.

I am looking forward to visiting the MFT Blog today and being linked to the rest of the team and their ideas! I always learn something new and say, why didn't I think of that?! Have a great weekend!

5 days to an organized crafty stash: day 5, inks

We have reached the end! Or maybe the beginning for your and your organization! If you missed any posts from the past week, be sure and head to the MFT Blog to get linked up!

Today is about inks and refills. Its pretty hard to beat something that is pre-made. I have a couple of ink and re-inker storage units from the company, Organize More.

This is my view every day that I sit at my desks. My inks are directly in front of me. This unit holds my MFT Stamps Premium Dye Ink Pads and Refills. My favorite inks. My most-used inks.

The unit to the left holds all my MFT Stamps Pigment Ink Pads and MFT Stamps Hybrid Ink Pads.

I sort my ink pads just like my cardstock, in rainbow order. The way the inks slightly hang out the front, make it easy to see my colors. Frankly, I have their location memorized. :)

I do keep my Black Licorice Hybrid Ink pad and Versamark Watermark Ink pads at the top. My most used. Gotta keep that stuff within easy reach!

A last couple of items to share with you, these baskets which I keep on the top of the left storage unit. These hold my Mini Ink Blending Tool Handles and Mini Ink Blending Foam Pads.

I change the pads for each different color of ink I use. This keeps them tidy and the plastic baskets wipe out easily when too much ink gets on the side. I picked up the baskets at Michael's last spring.

Look at this final prize! WHAT?!?! Amazing! Go to the MFT Blog and leave a comment on today's post to be entered to win!
