Another CHA project for Spellbinders™. For this card, I used the new Impressabilities™ called, Flower Silhouette. I placed it down on a piece of cardstock. Then I “stamped” down an ink pad over the top. I forget to use my Impressabilities™ as a stencil. I want to try this again, with different colors of ink. Oh, I just got another cool idea in my head to try with this…stay tuned. :) I added pearls to the center of the flowers, a couple of butterfly rub ons, and a border, trimmed to size, from Big Scalloped Border Grand.

CARDS pub for October

Good Monday Morning! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and got more treats than tricks! We did Halloween and hockey this weekend. The little man thought it was pretty cool to wear his tiger costume to the hockey game! I also found it amusing how he was sorting out all his candy, at 3, but I remember doing the same thing. Aren’t those the moments that make being a parent fun? :)

This card was published in the October issue of CARDS magazine. I combined my absolute favorite paper line from Chatterbox called Fabulous with some gorgeous flocked paper from Anna Griffin. The tag was pre-made. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment upon it.

*NEW* Impressabilities Technique

Permission has been given and I am SO thrilled to be sharing with you a brand new Impressabilities technique!!! I came up with this idea while playing around with my tools several months ago. I love using my Colorbox Stylus tool to ink the edges of my paper. But as I was staring at it, I thought, what can I do with the foam end? Then I remembered that Colorbox used to sell molding plates for the foam tips. Not having those, I looked at the Flower Impressabilities laying on my desk and thought, a ha!

Start by heating the black foam tip of your stylus tool. I use my crafting light. It does not take much heat to make it pliable.

Push the heated foam tip onto the Impressabilities. I chose the flower that would fit my tip before I did this.

Here is what the tip looks like. The image will not go away until you re-heat the tip.

Ink the foam tip, just like any stamp.

Here is the image stamped onto a Petite Oval die cut.

Spellbinders art work

I am SO excited to share these projects with you!! This first Spellbinders project is featured in the New Release catalog and highlights the totally fabulous Letter Press technique that is all the rage. By inking an Impressabilities, placing cardstock over the top of it, and then running it through the machine, you get this gorgeous, and I mean gorgeous, inked and embossed pattern.

And finally one more project featured in the New Release catalog. This is a baby shower ensemble that utilizes the wonderful new Borderabilities. I used the Eyelet Borderabilities to create a napkin ring, the bottom border of a name place card, the border of a flap of a treat box, and the decorative ring around a cupcake holder. So much fun! :)

couldn't help myself

I found this card in the "I haven't share this yet" pile! Yay! :) The last two days have been very productive, but unsharable, so this was a good find!
To create the background, I die cut several scalloped squares from brown cardstock. I turned them at an angle, to create a diamond shape. I adhered the entire square, even if it hung over the edge, that way, I could go back, trim, and get a clean edge.

We are looking forward to the traditional 4th of July at my parents house on the lake this weekend. The small town I grew up in has a parade, carnival, and all those fun summer activities. Everyone comes home, so you get to see all the people you grew up with. Its a wonderful time. And the little man is *very* excited to see the fireworks. We come back home to the big lake to watch the fireworks. We sit on the shore of Lake Superior and watch them be launched over the bay. It makes me so glad to live here! have a safe and wonderful 4th! thanks for stopping by!

Its a layout, shocking, I know! :)

A layout. It really is amazing, as in amazing I actually did a layout! :) I just adore this photo of DS and his first ice skating attempt. DS is a huge hockey fan (comes by it natually, from both mom and dad). He wants to play hockey for the UMD Bulldogs, but the funny part is, not too long after this first attempt, he decided he wanted to be a goalie. I am pretty sure that he thinks the goalie doesn't have to skate as much!!!! LOL!!! You can see how dejected he is on the ice, and I thought this quote was perfect. Like my way of telling him, that if he keeps trying and practicing, he will get it!
I did stamp directly on the photo. By using Palette ink and a steady hand, it worked beautifully.

True Friend

Here is a card that I made for my guest design stint with Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT). I told you that you would be sick of the Chatterbox Fabulous papers...hang on, there is a lot more because I got the rest of the collection at the Spellbinders design team retreat. That makes me smile, I am kind of sorry for you though! :)
The Crystal Clear cardstock I placed in the four corners, was run through my Cuttlebug machine. Isn't the look wonderful? The cardstock is from Flourishes. It is thick enough to be a card base-awesome stuff! I know I have seen several people using it, so if you were one of them, let me know so I can give credit to those that inspired the idea! :) (Amy Sheffer, maybe)

I turned the sketch on its side, just for giggles. This paper from Chatterbox was one that I *needed* to have from CHA. It is glittered and flocked and amazing!

The card opens, but it was scored shorter on the front, so the felt trim would stick out and still stay on the inside.
