projects from class

Flower topped box V2 use

Once a month I teach a class about using Spellbinders die templates at my local scrapbooking store. I truly enjoy teaching at All About Pictures in Cedar Rapids, IA. If you are ever in the area, stop on by!
Just a note, I lifted and tilted the box top for photography purposes.
Flower topped box CU

This was the first project we created. A small box using LF-010 Square Bracket Edge Box. The flower on the top was created with S5-086 Bitty Blossoms. The little bee was fussy cut from the patterned paper used on the box base. Its Echo Park Country Drive. The flower and leaves are Bo Bunny Double Dot papers.
Easter Basket

For the second project, we used the box again, but only the base. It makes a super cute mini Easter basket.

The handle was created with E8-001 Classic Scallop Edgeabilities and E8-005 Classic Postage Stamp Edgeabilities. Super easy, but way cute.

And the last project of the evening was with the newest dies from Spellbinders, Cut.Fold.Tuck dies. This one is S5-112 Carnival Dream. The cardstock is double sided and from Core’dinations. The patterned paper is Bo Bunny and the stamp is from Hero Arts.

It was a whirlwind weekend in Phoenix, but it was a blast! The Spellbinders Inspiration team (Kazan Clark, Holly Simoni, Ken Oliver, and myself) spent a couple of days together planning and learning about the amazing adventure that awaits us in the upcoming year. And I will be sure to share with you along the way!

more with Mint Motif!

BB2 SS bottom of my heart CD

Welcome back today for more looks at the newest sets from Mint Motif!! Today I am focusing more on Simply Sentiments. Why not make the sentiment the main element of your card?
I repeatedly stamped the sentiment in black ink, starting at the top of the cardstock. Once I got past half way down, I switched and stamped one sentiment in red ink to make it stand out.

A few die cut hearts were added and Beyond Borders Too was stamped on the card base. Oooh, I love that honeycomb pattern! So many possibilities!

Simple Saturday

I just love these non-traditional colors for Christmas! And I love using a stamp non-traditionally too! :) The stamps on this card are from Create a Bulb from H&M Stamps. I wanted to use the bulb just as a circle. Then I stamped the holly and leaves inside it. I used the star to stamp the background. The sentiment is from the Nature's Style set.
Its a really great set. Its truly created to be a 2-part stamping set-with insides and outsides. Super set, and yet again I love the way these stamps work and feel.

Supplies:
Stamps-H&M Stamps (Create a Bulb,Nature's Style)
Cardstock-PTI
Patterned paper-Bo Bnny
Ink-Palette, Versamark (WaterMark)

Tools-Nestabilities from Spellbinders

thanks for stopping by! hope your weekend is going well!

Old McDonald Birthday Party

I have a little man who will be turning three (way before I am ready) in not too long. So, I have birthday on the brain. I thought the Kiddie Farm set from H&M Stamps was way too perfect for this idea!!
The invitation was printed, then stamped, images were colored with Copics, and then it was mounted to patterned paper.
Tractors are very important to my little guy, so cupcakes that look like grass and hold the tractors was in order. I used Wilton's decorator tip # 234 to create the grass.
To make the pick, I simply glued the tractors to a toothpick. By using a thicker liquid adhesive, the toothpicks adhered perfectly!

The party hat is very easy to make. Cut out a large half circle. Roll it into a cone and adhere the edge to the cone. I pulled ribbon through the small hole in the top and adhered it to the inside.
Supplies:
Stamps-H&M Stamps (Kiddie Farm)
Cardstock-Papertrey Ink
Patterned paper-Bo Bunny
Tools-Copics

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I did. I found out that I had 6 projects picked up for a special issue of Paper Crafts! I am stunned and incredibly excited! It will be out sometime in April of 2009.
Make sure and join in the fun with the H&M Stamps Blog Hop and take advantage of the fabulous fall sale!

Old McDonald had a farm

Here is my first project using H&M Stamps. This set is called Kiddie Farm. You can tell I have a little boy how loves tractors and singing Old McDonald! This mini book from Maya Road doesn't have all the words, but enough to get him singing on his own.
On a side note, these stamps are clear acrylic and fantastic! Seriously nice stamps. Soft, solid, and a great stamped image. I have never used Heather's stamps before and I would recommend them!!

I stamped each of the animals on felt, to give them a soft and more dimensional feel. I use felt I buy at Michael's and Memories (dye-based) Black ink. It can smudge, so let it dry for a little but before handling. I forgot to pick up pink felt, so I colored it with my Copic markers and it worked perfectly!

The rest of the pieces were all stamped onto patterned paper and pieced together. I started cutting out the apples by hand, but realized quickly that a standard hole punch would be much easier. :) I did color the tractor on the cover with Copics, too much detail to piece there! :) thanks for stopping by! oh, and no snow, yet.
Supplies:
Stamps-H&M (Kiddie Farm)
Album-Maya Road
Patterned paper-Dotted (Bo Bunny), Plaids (Scenic Route)
Cardstock-Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink-Tuxedo Black (Memento), Black (Memories)
