Borderabilities Possibilities

Today I am showing you all the possibilities for materials and just the beautiful designs available in Spellbinders™ Borderabilities®. I will show you a card, then a close up with the material information, a tip or two, and then the supply list for the card, starting with the Borderabilities. If you missed it yesterday, there is a video on how to cut these borders HERE.

CARDSTOCK:

S4-240 Lotus Border Petite

This first card was made with the simple border making technique from yesterday and cardstock. Isn’t that beautiful?

Supplies: Patterned paper-Cosmo Cricket (De Lovely), Ribbon-Offray, Stamps-Hero Arts (Everyday Sayings), Ink-Palette (Noir), Cardstock-Papertrey Ink

CARDSTOCK:

Another look at cardstock. This border was cut twice, once from white cardstock and once from bright pink. By keeping the centers from the pink border, I was able to foam mount them inside the white border, and add tiny pearls as a finishing touch.

Supplies: Patterned paper-Cosmo Cricket (De Lovely), Stamps-Mint Motif (Very Square Sentiments), Gems-Hero Arts, Cardstock and Ink-Papertrey Ink

FELT:

Felt is so hot right now and with Borderabilities, you can make your own felt borders! Keep in mind, felt is fabric. Its fibrous. You will need to cut it twice and you *might* get a stray fiber or two that needs to be trimmed away. Worth the two extra seconds, if it happens! Look at that scallop with the little holes!! I pick up all my felt at Michael's-lots of colors to choose from at a good price. To adhere it to projects, I use Elmer's Fabric and Paper Tacky Glue.
Supplies: Patterned paper-Basic Grey (Sugar Rush), Stamps-The Petal Press (Happy Harvest), Ink-Palette (Noir), Twine-May Arts, Copic-YG25, Pearl Center-Prima, Flower-American Crafts (Dear Lizzy,Spring), Cardstock-Papertrey Ink

CORK:

Cork! How I love thee! This thin cork is from Creative Impressions. It cuts beautifully with all Spellbinders dies. But look at that border!! Can you see that in the Ric Rac pattern? Oooooh, another card idea...
Supplies: Patterned paper-Cosmo Cricket (De Lovely), Cork-Creative Impressions, Flair-American Crafts, Ribbon and Cardstock-Papertrey Ink

FABRIC:

This is fabulous, adhesive-backed, fabric paper from American Crafts newest line, Dear Lizzy. I am in love with yet another product! :) It cut in my paper cutter like butter. And can it be cut with your Spellbinders dies! Keep in mind again, that this is fibrous fabric and some edges will need to be trimmed. Peel the backing off and apply where desired. Gorgeous results! Ands yes, I did stamp the sentiment onto the fabric.
Supplies: Patterned paper-Basic Grey (Sugar Rush), Stamps-Hero Arts (Everyday Sayings), Ink-Palette (Noir), Cardstock and buttons-Papertrey Ink

DECORATIVE TAPE:

S4-239 Classic Scalloped Border Petite

Decorative tape is so, so hip right now. It comes in so many styles and colors and well, its just one more thing to start collecting! Some of the tapes come off just like a roll of tape. This tape, from 7gypsies, has a backing. Making it very, very easy to cut. Again, peel the backing off and apply where desired. A fantastic flat element for card makers that want to actually mail them.

Supplies: Patterned paper-Basic Grey (Basic Kraft), Stamps-Mint Motif (Very Square Sentiments), Ink-Palette (Noir), Gems-Zva Creative, Tape-7gypsies

Well, what do you think? Are you inspired? Are you ready to create borders? I have the coolest tutorial for you tomorrow! Fabric paper, Classic Scalloped Border Petite, and some shabby chic-ness. So fun! thanks for stopping by!
