Thanksgiving

Piece of Pie released Spellbinders

The idea for this piece of pie has been floating around in my head for quite some time. From the moment I saw the triangle box at Michael’s, that was its destiny! LOL! And it was a great project to turn in to Spellbinders (TM).

To make the crust on the top, I cut/emboss the Eyelet Petite Borderabilities ® from Spellbinders (TM). The edges and embossed parts all were distressed with ink. Using a wet adhesive, I glued the pieces to the lid of the box. Then, because we need pumpkin pie, I adhered orange patterned paper to the bottom of the box. :) It also got some ink distressing. And for the little vent holes on the top, look who came out to play again, but my trusty Classic Paisley die template! (told you :))

The place tag is a Cotton Scrap from Crafty Secrets attached to a large Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities ®. Add some more ink distressing, some cute cooking twill, a button, and twine, and there you have it.

I want to wish each and every one of you the best Thanksgiving!! Take the time to reflect upon who and what you are thankful for. I live such a charmed and blessed life and somehow, in the hustle and bustle, I forget to stop and take a moment. Tomorrow we will spend the holiday with my father’s family. Just like they have done for the past 50 years. What an amazing legacy and tradition! As our grandmothers age rapidly, we felt it was time to make a change. But we quickly realized that we need to be together. We need to continue to celebrate our family and the things that we have to be truly thankful for in this life.

Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving thanks.
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his ;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
