stamping on a layout - We R Memory Keepers Precision Press Advanced

Its a layout! Shocking I know! But, I did stamp on the layout, so that totally makes sense! In all seriousness, I really do love to scrapbook, so its nice when my assignments get me to do something different!

I used the newest tool from We R Memory Keepers called the Precision Press Advanced. Its a really great stamping tool! I paired it up with some mixed media products from Vicki Boutin and had a blast creating!

The Precision Press Advanced comes in two parts. The bottom is magnetic, has a grid, and has a surface with some grip. All along the bottom are pegs that will work in conjunction with the top piece. The top piece is clear and has holes along the edges. The top also has these fantastic soft and rubbery feet on the bottom. Allowing you to use only the top for great stamping results!

By lining up the pegs on the bottom and the openings on the top, you can get a perfectly lined up stamped image every time. Not to mention when you don't get the image inked up all the way, you can re-stamp without double lines!

On my layout, I painted lines and stripes onto mixed media paper. When you use paint, the paper can curl a bit. But, by placing the paper in the Precision Press Advanced, with the included magnets, the paper lays flat. Making your mixed media techniques work even better!

Visit the We R Memory Keepers blog today for all the details about this layout. Plus, I have some FABULOUS tips that you won't want to miss! I impressed myself with that little gem! :D

using MFT Hybrid Inks to create a canvas; MFT Ingenious Inking Challenge

Its another fun challenge with MFT Stamps! Have I mentioned how much fun I have with all these?!!? Today's inking challenge is about using the fabulous Hybrid Inks and how well they work when used with mixed media techniques.

I used the Hybrid Inks quite a few different ways on this canvas. I started by painting
Hybrid Blu Raspberry ink refill on a mini (4x4") canvas. I used a paintbrush and a small amount of refill because it is so intense in concentration. Then I applied heat to set the blue ink background with my heat tool.

The sentiment was stamped in Hybrid Nightshift Blue ink. To allow the sentiment to be stamped clearly on a canvas that has an open back, one that is not flat to a surface, I placed an acrylic block behind where I wanted to stamp the sentiment. It is from the set, Love you More. Once the sentiment was heat set, I tore a Post-It Note to fit over the top and created a mask to protect the sentiment from my next step.

I mixed Embossing Paste with Hybrid Lemon Drop refill ink to create a bright, sunny, yellow paste. Holding the stencil in place, I applied the colored paste through Stencil Sun Ray. Once finished applying paste, I carefully lifted the stencil, and the Post-It Note. Then I let the paste dry. Ok, I will be honest, I used my heat tool to speed up the process. A coat of MIX-ables Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze was applied to the yellow paste to bring more shine to the sun. A couple of sequins were added for more dimension.

This was a fun a project! Nothing like I normally make. But having all these great ink and tools available, made it a breeze! I recommend you give it a try! Check out all the supplies below and pick up a few today and push your creativity! You won't believe how enjoyable it is!
