gratitude day 2

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It was so wonderful and touching to read all your comments yesterday! Thank you for sharing them with me, they were a blessing to my day!

My gratitude for today is quiet evenings at home, after the little man has gone to bed. Right now I am sitting on the couch, next to my hubby, enjoying our favorite TV shows. Our big, fat cat is sitting with us too. Its good. Its happy. Its my wonderful life. Said with a happy, contented sigh and smile.

The card for today is a little experiment. The results were cool, but I think I would change things up the next time. I wanted the text to show through the flowers, but this might be a little too sharp a contrast. I will try another one and see if that matches my idea. :)

I started by stamping Friend Definition on a piece of white cardstock. Then, using a Versamark Watermark pen, I “colored” in Delicate Blossoms and heat embossed them with Clear Detail powder. After that, I covered the cardstock with Dusty Concord Distressing Ink. The purple was a little too, well, McDonalds Grimace-y for me, so I toned it down with Walnut Distressing Ink.

This side of the card got a piece of self-adhesive lace, in the cream color. Love this stuff! If you haven’t seen it, the package comes with 5 pieces of lace, with adhesive on the back. Its easy to trim to size and to just plain use.

Be sure and share your gratitude for today in the comments section of this post, so your name can be entered in the drawing at the end of the month. Feel free to comment everyday, I encourage it!

What are you thankful for today? thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:Stamps-Hero Arts (Friend Definition, Everyday Sayings, Delicate Blossoms), Lace-Hero Arts (Cream, Self-Adhesive), Ink-Tsukineko (Versamark Watermark Pen) (Memento-Tuxedo Black), Ranger-Distressing Inks (Dusty Concord, Walnut), Spellbinders-Label Trio

I love this card! the walnut ink really made a big difference with the grape! I don't know what you were looking for in your minds eye, but this is very attractive. I am grateful for all of my kids being grown up and now I can enjoy my early mornings with my husband before he goes to work with no interuptions. Just he and I and quiet conversation about our hopes and plans for the day. Heavenly.

I really like your card-love script on a card for background.

Today I am thankful for friends. Have lots of friends but just a few really close ones. We meet once a month to weigh and then go out to eat and visit-today is the day!! (sounds like it defeats the purpose, huh? but not really.)

I love the card you made here! It's a great idea, I might have to try my hand at. Today I am thankful for an evening to spend together as a family making homemade pizza--no one has anywhere they have to be tonight after work/school.

Grateful for the gift of friendship and time to have lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in several months. Many difficult things going on in her life, but we could still see points of God's goodness in the midst of it all.

First of all let me say - the card is lovely. I'm not normally a purple fan but this is perfection. I was doing some real thinking last night as I was ending my day; and for today I am grateful for democracy. For the right to vote last night, not only as a us citizen but as a woman. I am thankful too for all the men and women who really do work hard, not for their own personal gain, but for the betterment of our country.

Pretty card. Thanks for sharing. Today I am MOST grateful for going to the gym and spending my hour on the elliptical machine. It can get so boring. I'm grateful for my Ipod and Kindle to make that hour go easier.

Awesome card today. I love the text on the embossed flowers and that ribbon, (so cool).
Today I'm thankful that my dental appt. turned out fairly decent. I still have work to be done but the damage isn't as bad as I had feared.

Today I am thankful for the cool mornings that give my bulldogs the opportunity to play outside. When it is hot here at the beach, they are pretty much confined to the house but it is sooooo nice to be able to let them outside for a while! I can actually mop my floor without paw prints on it!

I love this card soooo much, I wouldn't change a thing! Too funny about the grimace-y purple! I am a purple addict, so I don't believe there's a such thing as too much purple...! Ok I lied, maybe even I have seen too much purple. But what the heck - today I am thankful for PURPLE! :-D

I am grateful to parents who taught me right from wrong even when it must have drove them crazy! I was a very stubborn child and they hung in there and made me do the right thing! Thanks Mom and Dad!!
