first day of preschool

First day of Pre School

I scrapbooked. Can you believe it?! :) The need to scrapbook has been overwhelming lately and I took advantage of some spare time. Oh, it felt so good! (Biased mommy alert!-->) And with my handsome little man as the subject, well, you can’t go wrong.

First day of Pre School CU banners and title

To start of with---I used the new Grand Nestabilities die templates from Spellbinders on this layout!! I used LF-127 Grand Scalloped Squares and LF-126 Grand Squares to make a frame from patterned paper. Needing to add a little something, I cut the frame and put part in the upper left and a smaller part in the lower right. If you want to learn how to make a frame using Nestabilities, you can see a video tutorial HERE. The Grand Nestabilities are wonderful! They pick up where the large sets of standard Nestabilities leave off. Love. Love. Love!

Then I used the newest papers from Bella Bvld, called, Midterm. I fell in love with them at CHA. So bright and funky! The banners are pre-made and on the back of Pep Rally. Buy two of this one, because you will want to use both sides! :)

Because the background seemed pretty plain, I stamped the handwriting line from Mint Motif’s School Basics stamp set. Using watermark ink, it added just right touch.

First day of Pre School CU post it and background

And the place this layout started, the post it notes. :) I die cut the yellow legal pad patterned paper with a Spellbinders Classic Square Large (die #3). The “tape” used to attach them to the layout was pieces of extra letter stickers I tore with my hands.

As for the journaling on this note, we told him he needed to wear a smile, bring his special school bag, he got to wear his brand new Spiderman shoes (cannot express how big of a deal this was, they light up! :)), and the first day of school was red day. Oh my goodness, when did he get so big?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! thanks for stopping by!

Oh look at that little guy - looks like he was super excited for school! The page is darling - I need to get my hands on a different school line to start on Ben's scrapbook but haven't found one I like yet - maybe this will be it! :)

What a great looking layout, Kim! Love the visual triangle created by the yellow - despite all the red, it really does a great job of centering your eye on the photos! And the little banner - cute!
