thank you

Gratitude Day 15: Today I am grateful for Mondays. Kind of weird, huh? But Monday around here is quiet. Nothing going on. No place to be, seems like an extension of our Sunday afternoon. The little man and I just hang out and have our lunch someplace besides the kitchen table. He chooses the floor of my office or in front of the TV. Lots of fun and definitely memories that I will always cherish. :) Especially when he is taller than me in a year or two. :)

Playing with the Studio Calico back40 kit leftovers. Pretty great leftovers, huh? The oval border is a sticker from Sassafras Lass.

A close up look of a vellum butterfly from Jenni Bowlin, it comes with those pearls and a foam adhesive square. Honestly, I have been hoarding the rest in the package. :)

What are you grateful for today? thanks for stopping by!

Mint Motif Peek: I’ve Got Your Number

Gratitude Day 11: Urgent care is today’s gratitude. Thank goodness there are places open for when your child gets sick outside of office hours. The little man has double ear infections. Poor thing. I am thankful for the doctors, nurses, and other professionals that take care of our families at crazy hours.

So, with the little man being sick and my sister and hubby here for a visit, today’s peek is going to be short. I know that you will all understand, family first! :)

I’ve Got Your Number is a fantastic set of numbers and a few sentiments. There are large numbers, which are perfect for coloring or paper piecing, and small numbers, great for making backgrounds and adding numbers in small places. Not to mention how fabulously it works with the other set we are releasing this month. :)

look whos turning 12

Sassafras Lass papers inspired this card. I loved the unique color palette and I love any excuse to make something girly.

look whos turning 12 CU lrg numbers

I stamped the numbers right on the patterned paper and colored the in with a Copic marker. (R24) Keep in mind when you color on patterned paper, its different than your usual coloring paper, its thinner and can bleed easily.

And my favorite font was used to create the sentiments in this set. This one would be great to create birthday party invitations.

The background was really fun to stamp. I placed all my small numbers on a large acrylic block. I stamped them onto a piece of white cardstock and heat embossed them in red embossing powder. Then I stamped them again and heat embossed with yellow powder. Distress ink was applied all over the cardstock. And then a darker color was added just to the edges.

What are you grateful for today? thanks for stopping by!

i {heart} papers 2nd Birthday Bash

Hello and welcome to the i {heart} papers 2nd Birthday Bash blog hop and scavenger hunt! You should have arrived here from Kimber! If you're jumping into the middle (or if you're lost!) be sure to start at Kate's. You don't want to miss a thing!

Today we’re celebrating two great years of IHP and are delighted to have some fabulous guest designers playing along with our talented design team members to bring some birthday paper-crafting inspiration your way! Our design team and guests are revealing their creations for this month's design team challenge--to design the "Perfect Pair"--a birthday card and coordinating gift, tag or other presentation item.

We would love if you would join us in making a Perfect Pair of your own (upload to your blog or an online gallery with the keyword IHPBB10). Be sure to post your link on Kate’s blog so we can see your project and enter your name in our challenge prize drawings.

In addition to today's design team challenge, we've got some fun celebrating in store for tomorrow and Thursday! Don't worry - you won't have to hop every day! Kate will be hosting a sketch challenge tomorrow on her blog, and Deb has another challenge for you on Thursday. Winners for each day will be randomly drawn from each day's entries, and everyone who plays along, either with the challenges and/or the scavenger hunt (more on that below) will be eligible for the grand prize drawing that will close the festivities on Friday.

Submitting your challenge projects is not the only way to win! Tucked into the text of today's blog posts we've provided clues to an easy scavenger hunt (most have to do with our favorite products and tools or hobbies and interests we have) that we invite you to play as you hop. When you find the answer, click the link to visit the store and collect "evidence" that is listed on that particular product’s page and email your complete list, in blog hop order, to Kate when you're finished. You can take your time and stretch the hop over the three days of our Birthday Bash celebration...it's not a race, but like any other sale, the earlier you shop, the better the selection! Deadline to submit your scavenger hunt entry is Friday morning, 3AM EST.

By participating in the scavenger hunt you'll receive an exclusive, one time use 20% off coupon code to use when you shop at i {heart} papers. (This will be emailed to you after the Bash when entries are checked.) You will also be entered for your chance to win the grand prize $50 gift certificate drawing on Friday.

ALL orders placed during the Bash (Oct 19-21) will receive a free goodie bag of surprise merchandise. The more you spend, the bigger your goodie bag!

Also, there will be random drawings for additional prizes from our PaperCraft Planet group members, our mailing list (sign up on the right side of the homepage) and our fans on Facebook. If you are on all three, then you’ve got triple the chances to win!

Birthday Bash Ensemble

For today’s project, I created a small tin that could be used for candy, gift cards, or any small birthday gift, and a birthday card.

Birthday Bash CU Tin Top

For the center of the lid, I created my own patterned paper by using the handwriting line stamp from, School Basics. And what is even better, is the words from the set, fit on the lines!

I just *might* be addicted to these roll flowers. :) They were created by die cutting a Spellbinders circle and cutting a spiral by hand into the center of the circle. Then the spiral was rolled up, glued together, and a gem was added to the center.

Birthday Bash CU Tin Side

A side shot of the tin. Patterned paper and lace was also added to the edge of the lid.

Birthday Bash Card CU

A closer look at the card. The background is Spellbinder’s Lacey Circles and the sentiment is from Cake Shoppe, Too.

For my project I used: Stamps-Mint Motif **HINT, HINT**SCHOOL BASICS**HINT, HINT**

Your next stop on the hop is ***Latisha***

have fun and thanks for stopping by!

World Card Making Day

3615275578_3f9ac8b2be

Happy World Card Making Day! Are you ready to be inspired? Share your marvelous creations? Shop? (don’t forget the coupon for the store over on the right side of my blog) Well, whatever you are in the mood for, have fun!! :)

Giving Thanks

Here is the card that I made for today. Its been in my head and now that I made it, meh. Its missing something and DH thinks its just weird. I guess I am hoping that you can pick it apart and take something away from it that you like; the color combo, the pumpkin rosettes, the fabric, or whatever else makes you want to get creating. :)

I did make a video about this card and it is in two parts. Part I covers the cutting of fabric with the Nestabilities and making the rosettes and Part II covers the making of the card.

Yes, two parts. Seriously, I am working on the chatty. But I really felt like I narrowed it down. Oh well, editing doesn’t lie. I chopped the entire end of the card making video off because, you have the photos of the card and you don’t really need to watch me use glue. LOL! Hope you like it!! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Good morning!

Good Monday morning! I hope that you had a wonderful 4th! We had such a perfect weekend. So much fun, perfect weather, friends and family, and an exhausted family! :) Happily tired!
I will probably download some photos today and share them a little later.

Just a fun card in my stash. The green "stuff" in the back is Magic Mesh. I turned it sticky side over and glittered it. Pretty cool look. I saw a pair of shoes in the mall with that look and wanted to see if I could re-create it. I have other projects using this idea, but they will have to wait for now. But, you can always coat the back of any sticker or sticky supply with glitter, flock, or Sparkle Fluff.
The flower was created by cutting towards the center of a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped circle. Just cover up the center and you get a cute flower. The cardstock of the flower was stamped with Retro Backgrounds from Papertrey Ink.
enjoy your day! thanks for stopping by!

more playing around

How can I not have any birthday cards in my stash? Seriously, you would think I would have something, but no. The other thing I don't have is Happy Birthday stamps. I have a couple, but not ones that fit the vision in my head. Hmmm...must remedy that problem! :) I am head over heels for this Sassafras Lass Whale of a Tale paper. So fun, funky, and yet cute.

I had the best day yesterday. I got to spend the afternoon with my oldest and dearest friend. We have been friends since the day I was born, she is six weeks older. We played ball together, went to camp together, got braces together, grew up together. She lives in Chicago now, so we don't get to see each other much. It was so good just to sit down and talk, talk like we are still attempting to spend the night on my parent's screen porch, but freak ourselves out from every noise we hear. We never made it the whole night, ever! :) So, have you talked to your oldest and dearest friend lately? If not, call her, or better yet, send her that card sitting on your desk. thanks for stopping by!
