ScrapLovers December Reveal

Creative Cafe has an entire year worth of stamps that work with the calendar shown on this project. Including, the calendar template stamp. I thought making a calendar with this circle magnetic memo board would be a great gift idea.

I started with the new Hello, Beautiful papers from Webster's Pages. Gorgeous colors, lots of cutting possibilities. I also adhered lace (inked) to the back of the board and some fabulous trim from May Arts down each side of the red polka dot paper.

I stamped the month with brown ink and added some snowflakes. The snowflakes got accented with my Spica Glitter pen.
The calendar was stamped the same way. The stamp is very large. My DH had a brilliant idea to use a brand new Cuttlebug B plate to hold the stamp. Isn't he the best?! It worked perfectly. The stamp took a bit of playing with to get it all (relatively) straight. These stamps are also incredibly soft, so literally no pressure needs to be applied, a simple kiss to the paper will work.

The calendar and the month title are both backed with magnets. That way, the month can be changed as needed.

This snowflake is also a magnet. A Maya Road chipboard snowflake was painted white and then distressed. A coat of Stickles was added for shine. A hole was punched in the middle of the snowflake. I tied twine around the 7 gypsies brad and adhered them to the snowflake. The magnet was adhered to the prongs of the brad with some serious glue! :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the new Crate Mia papers. I have been wanting them since CHA-S!! They are modern and funky and elegant all at the same time!! I love that the Jenni Bowlin bingo cards worked with the papers perfectly! Yes, that is Valentine's day you are seeing...

In the meadow, we can build a snowman...

If you knew me, you would know that I have a song for everything. I can remember the lyrics to just about any song I have ever heard and use them at any time! :) So, the Just Rite fonts are going to be perfect for me!! I knew I wanted to use these wonderful wintery papers from Memory Box and the lyrics just popped into my head. Grab my Brayton font (50 pt) and my Harmony Classic Circle Stamper III and we were in business.

Like I have said before, the spacing thing is very easy, just start laying out the letters and you will see quickly how they will fill the space.

The button snowman idea is not new, but he is kind of cute. :) I love the ribbon scarf!

Secret Revealed-Stamper's Dream!!!

The secret is revealed!! (you cannot believe the smile on my face!) Michelle Rodgers emailed me asking me to join her Dream Team at Stamper's Dream!!!!!!! I am still in awe and SO excited to work with such a talented group of women!!!
Here is my first project! (yes I am excited, lots and lots of exclamation points will be involved!!!)

These owls are literally a hoot!! It is the Owl Christmas set from Hero Arts. The set is fantastic and I will be showing you more ways to use the clear set tomorrow. The owls worked perfectly with the Christmas Brights paper from Memory Box. Funky and fun!! The whole pad is full of fun!!! Plus, it is 6x6 papers, perfect pattern size for cards!

The felt circles were cut from trim and a star eyelet was placed in the center. The funky squares are a die cut from my Cuttlebug. I also got to take the Copics out for a spin-needing some more practice there! :)

Sneak Peek Day 3

Today is the last day of sneak peeks from Pink Cat Studio's August release. Today we get to share some of our favorite projects. Tomorrow you will be able to see the images and shop! :)

Limitless Limbs
I used the swirl tree as a flourish in the corner. I added some small flowers from the set. The flowers were stamped on patterned paper.

Billy and Lily Accessories

This is a small metal tin from a $1 spot. Billy is holding an apple for the teacher-thought this would be a cute and quick welcome back to school gift for a teacher. The apples were colored and highlighted with a paint pen. They then got shiny with some Glossy Accents. The paper band around the center of the tin is a pre-made label from Creative Cafe.

Isn't the monkey cute?! My DS is all about Curious George, so he had to fly away with the darling balloon in this set. The papers from Scenic Route were too perfect! :)

Ethan had his stitches removed this morning. They placed him under and he did beautifully. He is so funny, he woke up talking! (wonder where he got that from....?) He will need to wear Steri-strips for the next 3 weeks, but he can now go outside, as long as he is slathered in sun screen. I finally have hopes of not having to watch Geo Trax anymore! :) Thank you for all your prayers and well-wishes. I know they made everything go smoothly! thanks for stopping by!

Pink Cat Studio Challenge

The Pink Cat Studio design team challenge this month was to use fabric on a card. Here is my card:
I had to make his ice cream cone with the felt too, I couldn't resist. I stamped on the felt and cut the cone out. Felt stamps beautifully!

Creative Cafe Felt Pocket

Isn't this felt pocket just the cutest thing? There is also a mini album (scallop edge and chipboard pages, in lime green) that goes with it!
The flowers and button are all from Creative Cafe.
To get the leaves and vines, I used Beautiful Morning stamps from Unity Stamp Co. and Palette Ink. The leaves were stamped on a separate piece of felt and cut out. The first time was just for a placement reference.

I am still flying high from all the fun and excitement from CHA. I had the privilege of meeting so many people, people that I truly admire! I guess I will share names because my DH and my mom don't want to hear about it any more! :)
I met Debbie Olson at the Copic booth. She is sweet and kind and sold me on the markers! :)
I had dinner with Lynn Mercurio, Nichole Heady, Dawn McVey, Heather Nichols, Jennifer Buck, Lisa Johnson, Michelle Wooderson, Deb from our PTI forum, and a few other lovely ladies! It was fun to talk about families and jobs and just chit chat! (yes, inside I was thinking, holy cow, please let some of their talent rub off on me! :) )
I also saw Angela from Unity Stamps, Layle Koncar, Vicki Boutin, Tim Holtz, Ali Edwards, Suze Weinberg, and so many others. The best part was, we were all ga-ga over everything at the show!
Well, back to reality; diapers, dishes, laundry, and cleaning, but I really wouldn't have it any other way! :) thanks for stopping by!

Father's Love

The trees and sentiments in the Papertrey Ink set, Father Knows Best, are so beautiful!!
The oval was cut and embossed with my Nestabilities. The tree top and base was stamped with VersaMark ink and then I pushed chalk into the wet ink. Eyelets from Making Memories.
I cut and pleated felt from Creative Cafe. I used Glue Dots on the front and back of each pleat to make it hold more effectively.
This side of the card needed a little something, so I highlighted the word Father in green chalk.

**Happy News!!** This card was chosen for Best Boy Card for the GSS contest at Papertrey Ink!! I am in shock and so thrilled! :)

Another GSS entry. Apparently I have a thing for green! :) Its not easy being green....I love Kermit...anyways....
The circle felt trim is from Creative Cafe. The frog and Happy Birthday are from Papertrey Ink. I cut the rectangle and the scallop rectangle from my Nestabilities.
I made the background by stamping the sentiment "Hippity Hop" (Pond Life-Papertrey Ink) in a row and the spiral circle (Father Knows Best-Papertrey Ink) on the next row.

More fish-I can't help myself-they are too cute! :)

I thought this stamp from Papertrey Ink looked like a little fish bowl. So, I turned it "upside-down," stamped a fish in it, and covered it with a clear page pebble.
Got this little tin in the $1 at Michael's. Loved the blues and the stripes. I punched the Giga (purple) scallop circle and the mega (pink) circle. The cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. Of course, you have to make the fish shiny with Glossy Accents. :)
Stamps-Papertrey Ink, Ribbon-American Crafts. I used Wondertape to adhere the ribbon to the edge of the tin.
