creating backgrounds with small images; MFT Stamps September Release Countdown

Welcome to the MFT Stamps Release Countdown! For the next few days we will be sharing projects featuring the new stamps, dies, and stencils that will be releasing this month. You will be able to purchase any of the products you see over the next few days on Tuesday, September 6 at 9 pm Central.

For my card today, I had fun playing with the new stamp set, Bold Blooms. Playing on an idea from a card I created in the past, I decided to use the smaller stamps in the set to create a background. I started by stamping the branch with Hot Fudge Ink. Then the berries with Summer Splash ink. I highlighted each of the berries with a white dot created with a white gel pen. How fun is that? I think if I were to do it once again, I would add a light layer of a background image behind, like Cheesecloth or Scattered Surface.

I created a bold sentiment, in modern fall colors, using a new die called, Die-namics Big Hello. The scale of the sentiment is perfect, lending itself to be used to create letters, or to use the negative space left behind. Loving this die set! If you look closely, you will see that I stamped small flowers from Bold Blooms on the letters. I thought it added nice texture with the tone-on-tone colors.

Visit the MFT Stamps blog for all the information you will need about the upcoming release. That includes product images, product videos, links to the design team projects, and more! Plus, there always seems to be a chance to win!

thanks for stopping by!

This is a super effect, so pretty and a fantastic way to quietly set off the bold sentiment. The colours look great together too. Thanks so much for sharing! Esther

Kimberly! I love this card!

I love the background you created and the white gel pen "dot" really gives the flowers a bit of highlight making them a bit more dimensional looking!

My favorite part is the red HELLO and the stamping you did on them! Amazing! Very Creative!

Really love the background with the berries, especially the white dots. And the super sized hello looks really cool.
