two shaker cards; MFT Stamps October release countdown

When I think of the holidays and Christmas, I think of winter and snow. Which often leads to thinking about snow globes. I love how the snow and sparkles fall gently down the shaker. So when I saw Die-namics Stitched Arch STAX, I immediately saw the top of a snow globe! Using the two largest dies, nested together and held perfectly spaced apart by a piece of low-tack tape, I passed them through my manual die cutting machine, to create the opening for my snow globe/shaker card.

Inside the snow globe, I created a scene with several new products. I started by creating hills with Die-namics Stitched Mountain Range. Sweet Tooth card stock was cut the entire length of a panel of card stock. I placed it in the bottom of the shaker, on a piece of Sno Cone card stock which was cut with the largest die in Die-namics Stitched Arch STAX. When I had the mountains arranged how I wanted, I trimmed away the excess, following the edge of the circle.

Images from Die-namics Winter Wonderland were cut from Sweet Tooth card stock. The coordinating images from Winter Wonderland were stamped and colored with Copic markers. There are three different trees in the set! I love having those options!

Inside the shaker, clear sequins, marshmallow sequins, and silver seed beads were added.

To create a base for the snow globe, I cut one of the images from Die-namics Blueprints 13 three times and layered them together. I thought it was a pretty good way to build up the base!

This shaker card is a labor of love. Of crazy love. Of the love of my crazy ideas. When I saw
Die-namics Snow Drifts Cover Up, I wanted to make each of those lovely layers part of a shaker. It was a little challenging, but it looks pretty neat!

I cut a sheet of foam adhesive with Die-namics Snow Drifts Cover Up. It was not long enough to cut the entire image. So, I focused on cutting the insides. Then, I went back and cut the top and bottom edge with the left-over foam. I left the extra pieces of foam on the inside (from the curvy main image) to keep things stable. I removed the backing from the die cut foam and placed my cut piece of Gravel Gray card stock over the top. Hello beautiful new gray color!

I flipped the piece upside down and quickly realized, I forgot the acetate. Sigh. To solve my problem, I trimmed a piece of acetate to fit, glued it down, then placed another die cut Gravel Gray card stock image on top. Then I got back to the fun fillers. I used Marshmallow, clear, and silver star sequins, along with silver seed beads.

Before adhering the shaker to the card base, I trimmed a piece of Wild Wisteria card stock to fit. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment 'let it snow' from Winter Wonderland three times. The best part about creating this purple panel, is how easy it makes putting the back on the shaker components. Glue it on, while the fun fillers sit in place. And one last touch, I added Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze to the entire top, because, can you ever have enough sparkle?
