Something to Perk Up Your Day-MFT Release Countdown

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Today is going to be a bit different. I am not going to start with new product, but a project inspired by new product. The new stamp set, Perk Up, got me thinking about coffee cozies, which got me thinking about the awesome felt that MFT Stamps has!

I found a free pattern for coffee cozies by simply by searching online. A sheet of Steel Grey felt was enough felt to create three cozies. I hand-stitched the edges closed, as you can see above. You could easily do this with a sewing machine and add more stitching and another layer of felt.

Sweet Tooth Felt was die cut with Die-namics Open Scallop Doily Duo. MFT Felt cuts like butter. It has always been hands-down my absolute favorite! The doily was stitched directly to the cozie. Sweet Tooth buttons were stitched to the center of a Blu Raspberry felt circle, layered with an Orange Fizz felt heart. Using fabric glue, I adhered the circle to the center of the doily

And now, to the new product! These small gift sets of cards and cozies are going to be perfect for gift giving this holiday season! I always need small gifts like this and to have part of the gift be handmade, is sure to make the recipient feel pretty special!

I stamped Blu Raspberry cardstock with Fine Chevron Background with coordinating ink. Then I trimmed a piece of Orange Fizz cardstock and stamped it with coordinating ink using the small coffee mug image from Perk Up. The sentiment and coffee mug were stamped in Sweet Tooth ink on Steel Grey cardstock. I love the chalkboard look this created!

The inside of the card was die cut with Die-namics Gift Card Grooves. This genius set of dies cuts tabs to insert a gift card. There are two dies that cut both directions. Another sentiment from Perk Up was stamped onto Blu Raspberry cardstock with coordinating ink.

By using the coffee cozie as color inspiration, I have an instant gift set!

Another card that will hold a gift card. The sentiment from Perk Up was stamped with Sweet Tooth ink onto Steel Grey cardstock. How fabulous is that font grouping?!

The top of the grey panel was die cut with Die-namics Gift Card Grooves. The coffee cup was created with Die-namics Coffee Cup. When I adhered it to my project, I used foam, but made sure that the foam was only on the bottom, allowing you to still easily insert and remove the gift card.

And yet another perfect little gift set!

Don't forget to head to the MFT Blog for all the usual good stuff!

thanks for stopping by!

I actually followed your line of thought of getting to the felt.... the wonderful MFT felt. Great job on the project, and everything else (which was a lot) you showed for today's blog hop of perking up.
