DIY magnetic weekly menu planning cards

Welcome to the MFT Stamps Release Rewind! For two days the design team shares more projects using products from the latest release. The June release is now available in the MFT online store. Enjoy the blog hopping and get inspired to purchase the latest or to pass the time while you wait for your order to arrive!

When I saw Die-namics Accent It Days of the Week, I knew immediately what I wanted to create--menu cards! Planning dinner is such a struggle, but if I plan ahead, its no problem! Now I have functional and super cute menu cards thanks to the great new release products from MFT!

And I should mention that these are magnetic! I simply adhered magnets to the back of my finished cards.    (I had to use the cookie sheet to photograph, as my fridge just doesn't have ideal lighting. :))

Before I get into the how-to of these cards, I just want to point out the cardstock I used. Its a whiteboard cardstock. Perfect for cutting with Die-namics! (more about this in an upcoming post)

The menu cards started out with a Kraft cardstock base in a standard A2 size. I stamped each one with Gingham Background with Grout Grey ink.

The whiteboard cardstock was cut with Die-namics Office Supplies.

Then I stamped the cardstock with Hybrid Blu Raspberry ink using Notebook Paper Background. Remember to heat set this ink!

File Folder Edges Die-namics was used to create the top tab. This set of Die-namics is this month's Free with $60 purchase set. I separated all the pieces and used the Die-namic that I thought would look best. I cut 1.5" strips of Nightshift Blue cardstock, held my die in place on BOTH ends with low-tack tape, and passed it through my machine.

Each tab was stamped with Darling Dots in Sweet Tooth ink. Heat set these too while you are at it. ;)

My favorite color is red. (Which I am guessing is pretty obvious with all my project color palettes. lol.) Anyways, it would match my kitchen perfectly, so I cut Die-namics Accent It Days of the Week from Electric Red cardstock

I adhered each of the days of the week to the bottom of the cardstock. I also added a button and leaves from Blueprints 14.

And let's face it, everyone's favorite way to menu plan---go out to eat! :)

Head over to the MFT Blog for all the details and to be linked up to the rest of the design team!

thanks for stopping by!
