MFT April Release Countdown: Video Tutorial

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Happy weekend! Welcome back to another day of sharing the April release for My Favorite Things! And you know the saying, "April showers bring May flowers." There just had to be some rainy day images this month! :) Pure Innocence Sunny Thoughts is the cutest stamp set, but then again, I can say that about all the PI images! Her raincoat and umbrella are so precious. I cannot wait to color it red, and aqua, and add polka dots and so much more!

After choosing my image, I knew I needed an interesting background. Let me introduce you to Stencil Raindrops. I inked through the stencil with watermark ink and then heat embossed each drop with clear embossing powder. To create the rainy, grey sky, I used my favorite technique of creating watercolors with my ink pads. I used Nightshift Blue, Blu Raspberry, and Sno Cone inks.

To continue the washed-out look, I used a technique with my Copic markers and Blending Solution to make her look watercolored, instead of the usual intense color that can happen with direct to paper marker coloring. Check out the video tutorial below. The link is provided for those that need it.

A look at the Copic Markers and other supplies I used to create this card.

Head to the MFT Blog to see more details, get tons of information, and to get linked up to the rest of the fabulous creative team!

Pure Innocence is colored very good, and her rain gear made me think of when I was a child with the yellow for rainy days.
