MFT March Release Countdown Day 5: A Wall Hanging

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Today's project was pure fun to create! With all the incredibly versatile Die-namics available this month, your summer camping and outdoor activities are going to be easy to document! What I love about Die-namics is their ability to create your look. I wanted this 10x10" wall hanging to be cute, so I used those types of patterned papers. I could have made the camper realistic looking and by adding different colors and accents easily. Everyone can use these!

The main attraction...this adorable camper from Die-namics Happy Camper. Look at all the details you can add! The main part of the camper was die cut from patterned paper (Echo Park Splendid Sunshine). The lower trim, wheel, and window were all die cut from cardstock. To the door I added stripes with Lemon Drop ink and the striped washi image from Washi Patterns. The pink patterned paper heart was die cut using Die-namics Heart STAX.

Another great new set of dies coming out this month are these fabulous trees, Die-namics Campy Tree Lines. This set is two separate borders that create perfect backdrops for your outdoorsy projects. (oooh, and maybe Christmas too...the brain is churning!) Because this wall hanging is 10x10", it took an extra step to create a background border long enough. I placed my Die-namics onto my strip of Gumdrop Green cardstock, already trimmed to the correct size, and held each end of the Die-namics in place with low-tack tape. Once the first cut was made, I simply moved the Die-namics border down the paper, overlapping the previous cut location and passed it through my manual die cutting machine again. They line up pretty easily and while not necessarily perfectly, I was able to make it look pretty seamless.

Thinking that I needed a campfire next to my camper, I grabbed another set of new dies called, Die-namics Roughing It. Its full of all sorts of fabulous camping images. Can you say s'mores? But that will be coming later in the week. :)

And finally a look at the phrase. This is a phrase I have been holding on to forever, waiting for the perfect project! Die-namics High-Rise Alphabet Lowercase makes up most of the letters. (Tip: I keep my alphabets linked together and run the entire set of dies at once. I keep the extra letters in the storage pocket of the set of dies.) The larger letters that spell camper are new and trendy! Die-namics Bright Lights Alphabet cuts some cute letters, but again, more later this week! :)

Stop on over to the MFT Blog and get linked up to the rest of the team. My jaw was on the floor yesterday looking at all the projects from the design team. I am floored!

thanks for stopping by!

Supplies linked, but not available until Mar. 12

P.S. Just a couple of things I want to share based on a couple of comments. I love your comments, they are all so sweet. But if you have a question, please leave an email address, so I can respond to you personally. I feel terrible when I cannot give you an answer directly!
-I link up all the products on the bottom of each post. HOWEVER, if they are new, they cannot be accessed until available in the MFT Store. The night and exact time I post is when you can shop.
-Stitching on cardstock-when you pierce your holes first, as I did with the stencil, your cardstock should not tear from your stitching. Especially the awesomely thick cardstock from MFT.
