Welcome to the February MFT Design Team Creative Challenge! This month we were challenged to use stencils. Its perfect timing for me! Stencils are hot, hot, hot right now! And have been coming on for some time now. Last April, while at the Editorial Board meeting for Paper Crafts Magazine, I pitched the idea of using stencils for a PC101 Squares article. And my article will be out in the April issue! I have so many fun ideas for stencils, that I had to share! Stay tuned all week for video tutorials.
My Favorite Things has fantastic stencils. Just awesome! I love so many of the features of their stencils and today I will be sharing about them in my video tutorial. Not only am I sharing today, but the whole team is sharing their stencil ideas as well! Be sure and head to the MFT Blog to get linked up!
To create this flower, I used my Wildflowers stencil two ways. First I used it to stamp through, and second, I used my watercolor pencils through the openings. To see more, check out the video below. For those that need a direct link: Stamping and Coloring Through a Stencil.
In the video, I take things one step farther and add shadows with ink and an ink applicator. There is a ton of tips, so don't miss it!
thanks for stopping by!
