Once again, my cake inspired my card! I thought I would try another baking idea with Spellbinders™ Impressabilities™.
I stamped the middle layer and the top layer from Cake Shoppe onto a piece of cardstock. I then letter pressed the whole piece of cardstock. The excess was trimmed away. I stamped and colored three candles and adhered them to the back of the cake. (I colored the open bottom of the candle long and left it long when I cut it out. That way I had a piece to put adhesive upon and to adhere to the cake.)
Here is a look at the final cupcake. Isn’t that cute? :)
After the cupcakes were cooled, I rolled out a thin piece of fondant and used a circle cookie cutter that perfectly fit the top of the cupcakes.
A thin layer of buttercream frosting was spread on the top of the cupcake and then the fondant was laid over the top. I used my hand to help smooth and level the fondant.
Place a piece of waxed paper on your counter. Using a food spray, spray the surface of an Impressabilities (a brand new, unused one) until you can see the color standing on it. Carefully lift it up and move it to a clean sheet. In the photo here, I didn’t move and the excess color spray came right through and ruined the first go round.
Gently, but firmly push the cupcake into the Impressabilities. And here is the results. We found that if you rubbed a little water on the fondant first, it didn’t spread the color out as much. The image was much sharper.
Have fun stamping and baking! and thanks for stopping by!!
