Just playing around with some Christmas paper and glitter. The house is all ready for Christmas, so I felt the need to make some cards.
I used BG papers on this card. The middle paper is actually a tag from the Dasher collection. I added glitter to the wing of the bird and flocked the berries. I tried putting the word peace on the card in a million places, in a million ways, but once I just worked with the angle of the tag, the space seemed to present itself. Those little stickers were just made for the bottom!
This is the new Figgy Pudding collection from BG. Gorgeous! I cut odd sized triangles from the paper and used them to create the tree. The houndstooth pattern on the back of the tree paper is super! The chipboard star and tag are from Technique Tuesday. Of course I had to glitter the star! :) The happy holidays saying stamp is from a set of clear Stampendous stamps.
As I have been following stampers, there is a look that I just love. Subtle, but it adds a depth to cards that is elegant. They use a embossing template to create a shadow box on the piece of paper they stamped. Like on this card, the piece that the tree is mounted upon. I don't have embossing templates. I attempted this look by cutting out a larger piece of paper in the same color. I then inked the edges of the smaller piece of paper, very lightly, with a brown chalk ink. I am happy with the results. Not as lovely as the real thing, but it worked in a pinch.
