Turtle Birthday

Yes, more green, more birthday, and more animals! I can't help myself! The Pond Life set from Papertrey Ink is just too cute!
I cut the Spring Moss cardstock with my Nestabilities. Inside each of the scallops, I stamped the spiral circle from Father Knows Best.
I stamped the turtle twice, once on the card and once on another piece of paper. He is cut out and foam mounted. Stickles were applied to his shell parts.
The tag was cut from a Cuttlebug die.

Hippity Hop Birthday

SORRY this was removed for publication!!

**Happy News!!** This card was chosen for Best Boy Card for the GSS contest at Papertrey Ink!! I am in shock and so thrilled! :)

Another GSS entry. Apparently I have a thing for green! :) Its not easy being green....I love Kermit...anyways....
The circle felt trim is from Creative Cafe. The frog and Happy Birthday are from Papertrey Ink. I cut the rectangle and the scallop rectangle from my Nestabilities.
I made the background by stamping the sentiment "Hippity Hop" (Pond Life-Papertrey Ink) in a row and the spiral circle (Father Knows Best-Papertrey Ink) on the next row.

May your Dreams Take Flight

SORRY this has been removed for publication!

Here is the first of my entries for Papertrey Ink's Guest Star Stamper. I am really happy with this one. It could be a birthday card, or a graduation card.
The Spring Moss cardstock was cut with my scallop rectangle Nestabilities. The stamps are from Papertrey Ink and the gems are from Hero Arts.
The chipboard stars I stamped on are from Making Memories. I used the spiral tree top from Father Knows Best and I LOVE the effect!!

CPS Sketch

I have never done a sketch challenge before-they have such neat sketches at Card Positioning Systems, I knew I had to give it a shot.
I love the look of the ribbon. It has been sitting on my desk just waiting to get used. When I picked up the new Prima's at Michael's today, I knew exactly what to do with ribbon! Didn't hurt that the new paper from Papertrey Ink fit nicely into the whole scheme! :)
The center flower is stamped and cut out. The stamp is from Boxes, Bags, and Tags from Papertrey Ink. I cut the tag with my Cuttlebug.
The bottom of the card is stamped with the same flower as the center, with a Watermark ink pad
I could not get the card to close, so I resorted to Velcro. This will work well for a gift card-I can place it on the inside.

winter layouts

Some of our best snow came in late March this year, so these were some of the recent photos I had on hand.
I punched the small holes in the chipboard border. I also painted it with Stickles.

still playing with those squares

I love those squares of patterned papers that Nichole Heady put on her blog for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop challenge. Too much fun!
Stamp-Out on a Limb Papertrey Ink, Ribbon-American Crafts, Velvet Brads-Creative Cafe, Cardstock-Bazzill, PP-Papertrey Ink
Not too sure what I think about the brads on the card and the design of the bag.

The coolest thing about the bag, is what it really was--this bag is gorgeous-thick, textured, with really nice ribbon handles. It matched the papers perfectly.

I just found out that my layout, "Spring Boots" was chosen as a winner for this month's Scenic Route monthly challenge!!! I am beyond excited!! :)

fin-tastic birthday

More fish-I can't help myself-they are too cute! :)
Polka dot felt, felt trim-Creative Cafe, Ribbon-American Crafts, Stamps-Papertrey Ink
I thought this stamp from Papertrey Ink looked like a little fish bowl. So, I turned it "upside-down," stamped a fish in it, and covered it with a clear page pebble.
Got this little tin in the $1 at Michael's. Loved the blues and the stripes. I punched the Giga (purple) scallop circle and the mega (pink) circle. The cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. Of course, you have to make the fish shiny with Glossy Accents. :)
Stamps-Papertrey Ink, Ribbon-American Crafts. I used Wondertape to adhere the ribbon to the edge of the tin.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Hope you got to scrap a bunch for NSD!

Here are a couple of layouts to share with you. I swear that the photo is straight, but my cropping apparently, is not. :)
Crate paper, Basic Grey chipboard, Making Memories sticker, 7gypsies tag, Heidi Swapp acrylic hearts, staples
The new Scenic Route Providence line here. I love the bright colors-so perfect for a toddler. Of course, I got these boots at Target, who could resist? DS calls them his "cool boots." He would wear them to bed, if we allowed him to!
Don't forget National Scrapbooking Day is tomorrow! :) ScrapLovers is having an online crop from 9am-9pm CST. There will be lots of games and prizes, live Bingo, and some great challenges, plus there will be a live chat with Iris Babao-Uy at 8 pm CST. Join in the fun at ScrapLovers! thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Fishes

This paper has been in my stash for quite sometime. Isn't it cute? I knew I would find a use for it at some point. When I got Papertrey Ink's Pond Life Sentiments stamp set-voila!
Glossy Accents on the fish.
My new Cuttlebug Embossing folder. Brads from Basic Grey "Cupcake."
Ribbon from American Crafts. Sentiment from PTI. Ink from Colorbox.
I just have fish on the brain. DS got a Beta fish yesterday. After much deliberation, his name is "Fish." Genius, I know (hey, he is only 2)! So we now have a fish named fish. :) Let's hope the cat can stay away from it...

Rub Ons

Here are a few cards from my rub on class at The Stamping Post.
On the first one, I painted with watercolor pencil over the black and white rub on. Fun effect. Sometimes the watercolor will pool, so use a paper towel to gently dab away any excess water and color.
Rub on-American Crafts, Stamp-Hero Arts, Ribbon-May Arts, Cardstock-Bazzill

For this card, I used clear buttons and rub ons. The rub ons were applied to the button and a gem was added to the center. The flower stems were flourishes turned the other direction and some watercolor was added for color.
Rub ons-American Crafts, Cardstock-Bazzill, PP-American Crafts, Gems-Hero Arts

More rub ons applied to buttons. The dots around the circles are also rub ons, along with the stitching. Rub ons, PP-American Crafts, Stamp, Gems-Hero Arts

A simple card, with gems applied to the rub on. Rub ons, PP-American Crafts.

PTI Blog Hop!

thank you SO much to everyone who voted for me!! I am so appreciative!! k

Its Blog Hop Night! Make sure and check out all the other blogs with projects here.

I have made fortune cookies with my students before and knew that was what I wanted to make from our squares of paper. I made these from the 6x6 pad of Father Knows Best paper pad.
Start by tracing a circle on the paper. Any circle from about 3-4" works well.
Cut out the circle.
Fold the circle in half, but do not crease the circle.
Hold the paper as shown and begin the folding process. Keep in mind that I had to take the photo, so normally your other hand would be holding the opposite side together. :)
Bring the two sides together. They look more realistic, if you do not fold them in half, but rather, off-center. You want to do this before you apply adhesive.
I recommend a strong adhesive, because of the pressure on the sides. I used two strips of Wonder Tape. Keep the pieces small enough, so they do not show.
Bring the sides together again, and there you have it! :)
I printed off fortunes from this site: Fortune Cookie Sayings. But, with all the great sayings that PTI has, I am sure that they could be stamped for the appropriate occasion. I am thinking graduation, baby shower, bridal shower...
Don't forget all the fun and contests going on at the PTI Forum! And vote for your favorite project! :)
