idol on stage; 3D card for the MFT Stamps May Release Countdown

Today's project uses a new image from Pure Innocence, coordinating Die-namics, and a cool set of Die-namics with tons of possibilities!

How cute is she?!? Pure Innocence Perfect Harmony is adorable. That's all there is to it. After I die cut Sweet Tooth cardstock with Die-namics Perfect Harmony and colored her with colored pencils, she needed a stage. You can't be a singing diva without a stage. :) Good thing MFT Stamps is releasing a set of dies called, Die-namics Take the Stage

Die-namics Take the Stage is truly meant to be a backdrop to create a stage with curtains, but I couldn't help myself and I had to make it 3D!

I cut Kraft cardstock with Die-namics Take the Stage. I scored 3/4" in on each side. Then I snipped in with my scissors on each of the four corners, as you can see in the photo above.

I applied adhesive to each of my new tabs and tucked them inside to create the 3D stage. Easy. Crazy easy.

Then I started creating the curtains in the background, the true intentions for this set of dies. I cut the large panel from Electric Red cardstock. I also cut three of the scallops. Look at how perfectly they layer together!

I also cut the two long sides. Tie backs for each long side were cut from Lemon Drop cardstock
Tie backs! How clever is that?!!

Using strong adhesive, I adhered the curtains to the stage base. I also added more scallops to the front and sides of the stage.

To put our darling girl on stage, I cut a slit in the stage with a craft knife. She tucked in easily.

And finally, a small sign, using a stamped sentiment from PI Perfect Harmony.

Ridiculous, yes. Adorable, yes. If you have a little girl in your life who loves to sing, this is fantastic! Be sure and visit the MFT Blog to get linked up to the rest of the design team. Today's projects are fabulous!

lots of love; MFT January Release Countdown

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Welcome back! All the hearts in this month's release have made me one happy girl! And look at the cute string of hearts this new image from Pure Innocence is holding! Pure Innocence Heart Banner is an adorable stamp set and it has a coordinating die, Die-namics PI Heart Banner.

I cut Sweet Tooth cardstock with Die-namics PI Heart Banner. Then I stamped PI Heart Banner with Hybrid Black Licorice ink. She is colored in with color pencil.

She is foam mounted to a tag cut from Sweet Tooth cardstock using Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 3. Isn't that scallop edging just the sweetest?!?

The Pink Lemonade cardstock base was stamped with a new background, Tiny Hearts Background, using Pink Lemonade ink. The sentiment, from PI Heart Banner, was stamped in Hybrid Black Licorice ink, directly to the card base.

And because I just cannot get enough of the stencils this month, another card using a stencil to create a background. I took the same idea as yesterday, and inked various colors. This time I inked through Stencil Staggered Heart Background in diagonal rows with Wild Cherry, Blu Raspberry, and Razzle Berry inks

Over the top, I added Sweet Tooth cardstock elements that were cut with Die-namics Love Centerpieces. Each part was foam mounted to the background to make it pop off the card.

Head to the MFT Blog for all the information and details about today's products. And did you see who the guest designer is this month? She is making some amazing projects!

MFT September Release Countdown grateful for peanut butter and jelly

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Welcome back! We are getting closer and closer to release day! And the great products just keep coming! Today is no exception! I have two very different cards to share with you, so let's get started!

First up, a new Pure Innocence image! Peanut Butter & Jelly has some pretty cute sentiments and that sandwich kind of makes me hungry. She also has a coordinating die to make cutting her out easy called Die-namics Peanut Butter & Jelly. She was stamped with Hybrid Black Licorice ink and colored with color pencils.

To create the background for the card I stamped a new border set called, Diamonds & Dots Borders. I like the way the Sweet Tooth ink looks when stamped on the Razzle Berry cardstock. The dots border is very easy to line up and stamping this background took a minute, maybe.

The rest of the pieces were die cut from Sweet Tooth cardstock using parts from Blueprints 19.

This card started with Die-namics Pinking Edge Rectangles. I loved the way the "fabric" look worked out on my card the other day and wanted to keep creating that look.

Three rectangles were die cut from Primitive White cardstock. Each was stamped with Burlap Backgound. (Burlap, oh yes! This burlap-loving girl is ecstatic!) Then I stamped the flower from Thankful Thoughts in Lemon Drop ink and also stamped Sour Apple leaves.

The rectangles were foam mounted to my Grout Grey cardstock base. The word grateful is from Die-namics Words of Gratitude and it was cut from Blu Raspberry cardstock.

The MFT Blog has many more details for you. I always learn something when I head over there. Watching the product videos always gives me inspiration!
