Welcome to the start of the MFT Stamps Release Countdown! For the next 5 days
we will be sharing projects featuring the new stamps, dies, stencils, and
colors that will be releasing this month. You will be able to purchase any of
the products you see over the next few days on Tuesday, January 5, at 9 pm Central.
Today's card is all about experimenting, recreating, and channeling my inner Julia Stainton, as she is the queen of all things shabby chic! Starting with Die-namics Stitched Fancy Flourish, I knew I needed something that could be framed by this lovely flourish. After peeking around online, I saw these gorgeous fringe hearts and bingo. there was my answer!
The stitch detailing on Die-namics Stitched Fancy Flourish is lovely. This die is beautiful in shape and scale. Wouldn't it be lovely with snowflakes? Or behind a rolled flower?
To create my fringe heart, I started by cutting Primitive White card stock with Die-namics Stitched Heart STAX. Then I trimmed strips of Primitive White, Spearmint, and Brushed Gold card stocks. The Primitive White strip was stamped with Typewriter Text Background using Chocolate Brown Premium Dye ink. Each of the strips was die cut with Die-namics Fringe. Because the strips were smaller in scale than the fringe die template, I made sure to push my card stock all the way to the top of the die before cutting.
Each strip was then glued to the heart. Using the heart as a guide, the extra paper was cut away. You will lose pieces of paper that you want attached. Apply a small spot of glue to the top of the pieces and reattach them to the card. To see Die-namics Fringe in use, you can watch a video tutorial here:
The heart and flourishes were adhered to a card base that was stamped with Polka Dot Background. To tie in the gold from the fringe on the heart, the polka dots were heat embossed with gold powder. The sentiment is from the new set, Label Maker Love. So many great words to chose from! I stamped the words onto Sweet Tooth card stock with Hot Fudge Premium Dye ink and trimmed them out by hand.
