lighted Christmas wall hanging; MFT Creative Challenge

It is time for the Creative Challenge! This month the design team for MFT Stamps has been challenge to use non-traditional Christmas colors on our projects. I will admit, this project is a stretch, but I was so excited about making it happen, I know you will forgive me! And hey, I used blues and whites, not reds and greens. :D

While shopping the other day, I saw wall hangings that were lit! They had layered scenes and placed small white lights behind them. So seasonal and festive and I had to make one!

I die cut and stamped images from Winter Wonderland. Using Copic markers, I colored the images. They are layered onto a background using Die-namics Stitched Mountain Range. In between the mountains is foam adhesive, I used that to feed my craft lights through, allowing the scene to be back lit. The Sweet Tooth card stock supporting everything was inked with Summer Splash and Spearmint ink.

To allow light to shine through it, I cut the top window out of the barn using a craft knife. To hide what is going on with the lights and the edges of the scene, I placed a circle cut with Die-namics Pierced Circle Frames.

The entire image is placed on a 6x6 wood pallet. My husband drilled a hole in the pallet for me to feed the set of crafting Christmas lights through. I have to say that I adore this project! And mention that an insane amount of foam adhesive was used to accomplish the final result. :D

Go to the MFT Stamps Blog and get linked up to the rest of the design team. See how they inspire you with non-traditional colors!

So awesome, Kimberly! This could actually be used as a night light! It was so worth all the foam adhesive!
