3 ways to use Winter Waves Background; MFT Stamps New Product Launch

The wait is over! The MFT Stamps November Release is live right now! Which means you can head to the MFT Stamps online store and purchase the stamps, dies, stencils, and more that we have been sharing for the last five days! I will wait patiently here while you shop. Or if you are still making up your mind, let me convince you of a few more items you might "need."

Tonight I am featuring the latest red rubber background stamp, Winter Waves Background. The red rubber background stamps measure about 5 3/4" square. Perfect for covering an entire A2 or standard card size. On each of my cards tonight I have shown a different way to use the background stamp. And while I am showing off Winter Waves Background, you can use these ideas for all of your background stamps!

For my first card, I stamped a panel of Persimmon card stock with Winter Waves Background. By using the Persimmon ink, I created a tone-on-tone look. Its like creating your own patterned paper! The panel was cut with Die-namics Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX. I could have used tons of different dies and that is the best part! So many options when you stamp the background images!

How about something sparkly and festive. This card is perfect for people who send out New Year cards instead of Christmas cards! Because hey, its a busy time of year!

To add glam, I stamped Winter Waves Background onto Black Licorice card stock with watermark ink. Then I heat embossed it with gold powder. It looks SO cool!

Die-namics Stitched Star STAX is new and I love passing two dies through at the same time to create framed images! The sentiment is from last month's Hand Lettered Holiday. All in gold, of course!

This final card is fun and silly. And makes my inability to draw painfully obvious. This is why I stamp people. :D

Winter Waves Background was heat embossed in white powder onto watercolor paper. A watercolor wash was created with Blue Yonder ink and water. I painted the watercolor wash over the top and the heat embossed image resisted the wash, leaving the white images to show through. Its a pretty cool look, especially when you use less intense color at one end and create an ombre look.

The snowmen were created with images from Die-namics Toasted Marshmallows. I thought the largest marshmallows could be stacked up to look like snowmen. The arms were easy as I used the stick image from the same set. Silly and fun and a unique way to use some dies.

Here are 3 ways to use background stamps:
  1. Tone-on-tone. Stamp the image with the same color ink as card stock.
  2. Heat emboss.
  3. Embossed resist. Stamp. Heat set. Go over with ink or watered down ink.

Visit the MFT Stamps Blog for all the information about the release. Find out how you can win big also! And don't forget the release classes, available in downloadable print outs or video! Thanks for joining us for another fantastic release!

thanks for stopping by!
