hearts and hearts and hearts: MFT January Release Countdown begins

Welcome to the year 2015 and welcome to the January release countdown from MFT Stamps! There is a whole lot of love happening this month and the products are amazing! There will also be new colors and so many more goodies in the store! This is the start of my second year with the team and I am so thrilled to be a part of the team at MFT!

Both of my cards today use Die-namics Fluttering Hearts Cover Up, because well, how could I not use it? The Die-namic cuts hearts, but only in half, so that you can lift them up to add dimension. Keep reading and checking out my photos so you can see exactly how this brilliantly designed die works!

I began by cutting Sweet Tooth cardstock with Die-namics Fluttering Hearts Cover Up. I layered it onto a piece of Blu Raspberry cardstock. The panel was cut with an element from Die-namics Blueprints 20, the large rectangle with the scalloped edges. Those sweet edges were perfect for a Valentine's Day card.

Each of the heart sides was bent upward to add depth and interest. The peek of color from underneath is so much fun!

The tag at the top is Sweet Tooth cardstock cut with Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 3! Yay for another set of tags! The round-bottomed tag has those wonderful stitched details. The size is perfect for creating a tag or layering onto a card like I did here. Once the tag was cut, I passed it through my machine again, this time with the words from Die-namics Tag Builders Blueprints 3, be mine. Once the words were cut, I adhered a small strip of Wild Cherry cardstock behind. The hearts and arrow elements are also from Die-namics Tag Builders Blueprints 3.

I finished things off with a bow of Wild Cherry grosgrain ribbon and a Blu Raspberry button that was tied with a hemp cord bow.

Then I went simple. Super simple. But I love this because even my hubby would like this card. Lovey, without all the froufrou. (I have been writing this blog for over 6 years and have never had the opportunity to use the word "froufrou" until now. That makes me giggle!)

I used the same idea as the first card, cutting Sweet Tooth cardstock with Die-namics Fluttering Hearts Cover Up, layered with a panel of Pink Lemonade cardstock that was cut with Die-namics Blueprints 20. You have to go with a look when it works. :)

Behind one heart, I added a piece of Wild Cherry cardstock and then bent up the one heart. The word YOU was die cut from Steel Grey cardstock four times using the new Die-namics Love & Adore You. By cutting it repeatedly and layering it together, it really stands out more. (Oh, and I used a Quickie Glue Pen to get those tiny little letters together.)

Simple. To the point. I like it. A lot.
