MFT Release Countdown Day 5

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Welcome back! The fun and creative images and Die-namics from MFT keep on rolling today! I am using Laina Lamb's stamps, Friend Request, and Die-namics, Smart Phone. Super trendy. Perfect supplies for cards and other projects for teens and tweens!

I started by die cutting the phone from patterned paper and cardstock. The way the two Die-namics layer together is fantastic. You can customize your phone to match anyone's! The speech bubbles were die cut with Die-namics Smart Phone. I stamped the words from Friend Request in Blu Raspberry ink.

For the inside, I used a small strip of patterned paper to anchor my die cut speech bubble.

Scrolling around the web looking for inspiration, I came across a ton of cute fabric cell phone holders. (having a son with an iPod that gets tossed around his swimming bag, I can see why these would be useful...) I thought, wouldn't it be cute to put the phone and images from Die-namics Smart Phone on a felt pouch? So I did.

I created the pouch by placing my cell phone on a sheet of Sweet Tooth Felt. I trimmed it to size. Very technical. :) Then I stitched up both sides, being sure to add a few more stitches at the top of the pouch. I turned the pouch inside out. The flap was trimmed on each edge at an angle. Two pieces of Velcro were added to the flap to keep it closed.

All the other pieces were die cut from felt using Die-namics Smart Phone. And that cute smiley face? He came from Die-namics Blueprints 11.

The phone fits inside nicely. Oh, and the elements were all adhered to the felt using a glue meant for fabrics.

The design team has truly outdone themselves this month. I hope that you take the time to visit the MFT Blog and get linked up with everyone. Not to mention, the chance to win prizes! :)

thanks for stopping by!

P.S. My baby turned 8 today! He has grown into quite the young man. We are so proud of him and all his accomplishments. Its a huge weekend for him, birthday, special swim practice for Sectionals, Pinewood Derby Day (his first), and the Sectional swim meet. Needless to say, we will have his party next weekend. Oh, and he is all about watching the Olympics. Anyone else excited? It brings back wonderful memories. He was born during the Winter Olympics of 2006. We spent many hours watching them while feeding and changing and cuddling a newborn. Hard to believe its been 8 years already...
