To say it has been a whirlwind around this place lately would be a very large understatement!! This post is photo heavy, but I figured, better in one post than all week! :)
To start with, last, last Saturday was finally the little man’s 7th birthday party. Obviously it was a Lego Bash. :) The idea for the invite came from Pinterest. I had E build a Lego dude and took a photo of it. Then I added all the text in Photoshop.
(Hey, this post fills in for I saw it, I pinned it, I did it! Its been awhile!)
The treat buckets were picked up at the party store for $1. The faces were made from files I designed with my Silhouette. The vinyl stuck perfectly to the bucket. If you want the files, let me know and I can email them to you.
The buckets were full of Lego themed items; a small Lego Creator set, pencils, erasers, Rubik’s cube, and the homemade things below.
These Lego dude molds were from Amazon and the Lego Store. I simply poured chocolate inside, let them set and removed them. Yum.
This is another mold I found on Amazon. We used it for making crayons. We actually picked up special colors to break up and melt. Crayons with glitter and metallic finishes.
And the happy birthday boy. The boys had fun building Lego cars that were powered by balloons. The balloons may have been a bit more fun by themselves. :)
And there will be no cake photos shared. Epic fail. Wow. So bad. Let’s just call that one a Pinterest FAIL. :)
Then last Monday, I flew to Golden, Colorado and met up with Susan Opel and Stacy Croninger from Paper Crafts Magazine. I was sitting on a HUGE secret. No one knew I was there, except my family!
I was out there shooting video tutorials for Paper Crafts Magazine!! Can you believe that?!?! I still cannot! :) It was busy and a ton of work, but good work. Fun work. Awesome work.
And we had some time for fun, shopping, and sight-seeing. Having never been to Colorado before, I was in awe of the mountains and the beauty there! See the road way down in the bottom of the photo on the right. Photos could never do that view justice!
Which brought us to this Saturday. Easter egg dyeing. Fun.
And I love the new egg plate! It was a birthday present from my parents.
And oh, the sweetness…E wanted to leave some carrots and a note for the Easter bunny. He was so excited, he could hardly contain himself. Or sleep. Please, please let this last longer!!
Successful egg hunting Easter morning. We had him count his eggs, just to see how many he had…really it was to make sure there weren’t any left in hiding! He could care less about the candy, just happy to have the plastic eggs. Which turned into baseballs or bowling balls, and are now all over the floor. :)
We went off to church and enjoyed a brunch at a local restaurant in town, because, who wants to bake on their birthday?
Yes, Sunday was also my birthday. Hubby made sure I had a cake, and lots of candles. Turning a year older is never fun, but I have to say that 37 is looking pretty good right now. I am so unbelievably blessed! There is so much to be thankful for!
Whew, are you still with me? Well, seeing as you read this far, how about I give you a chance to win a present?!? I have a box full of goodies; adhesives, ink, die templates, and some other fun stuff to send to one lucky commenter. Leave a comment on this post by Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at 10 pm CDT. I will draw a winner then.
