a month of gratitude

It is November and it is time for stopping and giving thanks. I try and keep an attitude of gratitude always, but some days are easier than others. This year has been especially tough in this area. Being so sick and in so much pain left me weak and helpless and barely able to handle anything. Finding gratitude and praise during a this storm has often escaped me. Anger and confusion take over my emotions. Fear overwhelms me. But, I am learning to take life one day at a time. Its not easy. I am working at it. Consciously working at finding the positive. And when you find one tiny thing to be grateful for, soon enough you find more and more things in life to be thankful for.

So today I am thankful for one thing. Its small, but really, its not. I am thankful for life. For breathing. For experiencing all that is precious and fleeting. For the opportunity to exist in this world. Even on days when getting dressed is a feat, I am here. Living, breathing, and trying to grow.

Please join me in a month of gratitude.  Its easy. Post on your blog, Facebook, Twitter, a journal, a napkin even. Stop and pause. Please feel free to share your gratitude with me. I would love to hear and learn from you. In fact, I will give away a nice prize package at the end of the month, drawing a name from all the gratitude comments left on my blog during November.

thankful for you and thanks for stopping by!

What a great idea. I'm sorry you have had such a tough year, but it's true, when we count our blessings and are grateful we find many more.

I am grateful for friends - near and far. Those I've met in person and those I've met in cyber space. There are so many good people in this world.

This blog post really touched my heart. You are so candid about your struggles. You have endured hard times, and yet you have managed to find something so important for which to be grateful. I am in a similar place, experiencing some hard times but trying to find positives and feel gratitude. I am grateful for many things: my loved ones, the trail where I walk daily, music, and the creative process. In hard times, we often lose sight of these blessings; so it is important to make the effort to remember. Thank you for the poignant reminder!

I love how my life has changed over this year since I started exercising thanksgiving in all things. I didn't know I was capable of being so joyful. It's very freeing! I'm looking forward to your month of gratitude - and I remember your last year's as well!

Hi, Kimberly! I am a more recent follower of your blog. This post is very meaningful to me, as I am sure it will be to many. After seeing all of the devastation and destruction from Sandy, even the smallest blessings are something to be thankful for!

I give thanks to our Lord for each day of life, for loving family and friends, for shelter, food and clothing. Nothing should be taken for granted and my heart goes out to all of those who are facing enormous challenges in the days/weeks/months to come.

You expressed it so well in your post, Kimberly! Thanks for your inspiration.

A month of gratitude - what a wonderful idea. You have certainly had a difficult year, but your positive attitude has helped you cope. I'm grateful for many things. One of the things I'm grateful for is bloggers like you that share your talent, not only for stamping, but for coping with your pain. You are an inspiration in so many ways.

I will try to get here each day but not always going to be possible. I am thankful for a place like this to learn and express myself. That is it for today! I am just going to list most of them, if I started to talk about them all, your system may shut down:) Thanks for this opportunity!

I'm grateful for my mom. Lots of reasons but today she's taking two out of three kids since I'm not feeling well. Yeah!
