To have a little fun for April Fool’s Day, I made a bunch of the “Fake Food” recipes from Family Fun magazine.
Spaghetti and Meatballs
(frosting, jam, Whoppers, white chocolate shavings, parsley all over half a cupcake) (I would tint the frosting next time, it was a little too white, but the little man still got it.)
Bacon and Eggs
(white chocolate whites, white chocolate dyed yellow for the yolks, caramels and Tootsie Rolls for the bacon) (one tip, tap the white AND yellow chocolate at the same time to level them both out, bummer on those)
French Fries and Ketchup
(sugar rolled breadsticks cut small, jam)
The little man was not sure about it at first. He thought the food was the real deal. But once he tried the “eggs” (white chocolate) he started to figure things out. THEN it turned into silly fun!! And for the rest of the evening, he wanted to “play a joke” on us. Happy April Fool’s! thanks for stopping by!
