hello

hello

Spot Dot is such a cool stamp set. What a great idea. Its been fun experimenting with all the ways to use the images. With the Painting With Powder technique from Stampendous on my mind, I thought, why not layer embossing powders over the circles? I think the results were pretty cool. And the gradient look is so trendy right now.

I also embossed the sentiment with two color powders, and the frame in one color. (the frame was easily cut by hand) When I am going to emboss, my go-to ink is Tsukineko Versamark Watermark ink. It stays wet a long time, and when you are using several different images and several different powders, it helps. And since I began stamping, Stampendous powders have always been the embossing powders I use. They are the best. Especially the the detail powders. Detail powders allow you to emboss fine lines, without problem. Their powders heat up evenly and quickly. And with all the new colors out in coordinating kits, you are going to get addicted to this!

I think I will try and get a little video together to show you how easy this and a few other embossing techniques really are. Maybe this weekend, ok? (I am starting feel more settled in our new place, but keep your fingers crossed for its completion! :)) thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamps (Papertrey Ink-Spot Dot, Fillable Frames #1), Ink (Tsukineko Versamark Watermark), Embossing Powders (Rich and Rugged Kit), Cardstock (Papertrey Ink-Kraft)

Hiya, Kimberly. Glad to hear you're feeling more settled. I have that stamp set but haven't had a chance to play with it much. I really like how you layered the embossing powders. Very fun!

Kimberly, your card is simply marvelous. I have wondered about combining more than one color of embossing powder on a card, but was too whimpy to give it a try. I will absolutely do it now.
I did find and order JB's core'dinations cardstock. That card is also fantastic. Thanks for inspiring and motivating.

Great job, Kimberly, with Fran's Painting with Powder Technique! And thanks for the link to the kits. Wanted to let folks know that it's important to read the descriptions on the kits, we've had some customers surprised when some kits contain the same colors, but the colors are clearly listed on the website. Each kit was designed for a specific look regardless of what is in other kits. Plus at the rate this uses powder, you'll be glad to have extra of some colors! Love your card!!! Hope you use some Stampendous stamps in the tutorial so we can use it too, wink wink!!

Kimberly,
I LOVE THIS CARD! In fact you could send it right over and I would be happy as a lamb. It inspires me so. I wish I could find this in fabric for my new studio. I love the colors.\
Stampendous powders are wonderful. All I have except a few by Tim Holtz which I also love for the grunge stuff.
Can't wait for the new teachings from my favorite teacher- WINK.
Have a great weekend dear.
