Yay! Today is the JustRite Christmas Blog Hop! For my project, I chose to make an ornament and a box to hold it. Christmas ornaments have become important in our house since our son was born. I never understood the goofy ornaments my mom always put up on our tree, but now I get it. And I have started to collect goofy, but so meaningful ornaments for our son.
This is a basic box. It measures 4.25” square and the sides are 1” high. To create the closure, I cut and embossed the smallest Label 4 shape. I adhered the top of the shape to the top of the box, and the bottom half has velcro, to make it easier to open and keep closed.
The ornament is a basic glass edged ornament from Michael’s. I covered the backside of the ornament with Elmer’s Paint Pens in blue. It took two coats. If you try this, be very light handed with the second coat, so you don’t disturb the bottom one. Love the ease and coverage of the markers.
I stamped the snowman image from the JustRite Stamper’s set, Something Sweet. Use an ink made for glass and heat set.
One more peek at the box. For the sides, I embossed a Snowflakes Impressabilities with kraft cardstock. Then I pushed Canvas Palette ink over the cardstock to bring out the snowflake pattern.
Look at this list of amazing designers! Check out all their amazing projects and get inspired for a handmade Christmas! :)
Hope you had a wonderful weekend! We had a lovely time eating out, going to a movie, playing golf, and sleeping in! :) Thank you so much for all the congrats on our anniversary!! and thanks for stopping by!

Your box is gorgeous but I am very intrigued with how you made the ornament. Any chance you would give a step by step tutorial for making that with the elmers glue paint?
