i heart you snowman and giveaway

Happy Monday everyone! Well, its still winter around here, so decorating with snowmen is pretty common, until the moment I can put out the spring and Easter decor! With that thought on my mind, I stumbled into this cute idea. I was making shapes with my son using the WR Memory Keepers Trim and Score Board and Triangle Score Tool. He is learning about 3D shapes and I thought it would be fun to create a few of the 3D shapes included in the wonderful instruction booklet. And, I got to do some paper crafting with my little man! Win, win! After making a few larger icosahedrons, my son stacked them on top of one another, and I thought, wait! How cute would that be as a snowman? And this project was born.

Put anything into a glass mason jar and somehow it becomes even cuter! Using the Triangle Score Guide to create the basic shapes for this snowman is easy.

Take a look at the video below! It is lengthy, but I show you the entire process to create these shapes.

Now, I only cover one shape in the video, but it gives you an idea of how to create any of the shapes. Frankly, I think this icosahedron shape was the most complicated, but now that I have made a few, no problem!

Once my basic body was complete, I needed to add all the cute snowman parts. This is where my supply stash comes in handy! I die cut Chocolate Brown cardstock from MFT with Die-namics Go With It. You can see how I snipped away parts to create the perfect stick arms and hands!

The nose and eyes are thanks to some great My Mind's Eye enamel dots and shapes. Seriously, how perfect is that triangle for this? And orange no less!

I added some twine over his arms. Then I held it in place with some more enamel shapes. These hearts are from Doodlebug.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Dodz Medium were attached to the bottom of the snowman and I placed him down in the jar. I bent his arms in and then they popped right back out once they passed the smaller opening of the top. Chunky cello glitter was poured into the bottom of the jar.

I cut a circle from patterned paper, then stamped it with the sentiment from MFT Love You More. I added an enamel heart to the heart in the sentiment.

And please note, I created a 1" icosahedron for the snowman's body. Times, two, of course. :)

And here is your chance to win! I have a WR Memory Keepers Trim and Score board along with a Triangle Score Guide for one lucky commenter! Leave a comment on this post by Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 10 pm CST.
