Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.
Welcome back! Today I wanted to create a more romantic looking card by using some new stamps and a fun background technique. Not sure if its a technique exactly, but something fun to try anyways.
On my Sweet Tooth cardstock base, I stamped Romantic Script Background with Black Licorice Hybrid ink. I used the Hybrid ink because I wanted the ink to be permanent, no matter what other treatment I did over the top. Be sure and heat set this Hybrid ink before starting your next ink application.
Then I applied VersaMark Watermark ink to my new background stamp, Damask Background. (Yay that MFT Stamps is now carry this ink!) I applied it only to the center, because I knew that is where I wanted my upcoming emboss resist part to be on my card.
Then I poured Clear Detail Embossing Powder over the top and tapped the excess off onto a piece of paper. Pour the extra back into the jar. (How does MFT know to carry all my favorite products?!? I am so thrilled because I have loved these two products for years!!!)
Heat set the powder. You know it is done when the embossing powder has gone from matte to shiny.
Now for the cool resist part. Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, apply Steel Grey ink to the card base in a circular motion. When happy with where your ink is located, and the depth of color, rub a paper towel over the top to remove any ink from the surface of the now shiny embossing powder.
And finally the word love is Die-namics Love & Adore cut from Steel Grey cardstock four times, stacked up to add more depth.
Tomorrow is the day! Release day! My next post will let you know that it is time to shop! Visit the MFT Blog for more details, including all those wonderful chances to win!
