Last weekend we decided to take a road trip to enjoy the warm weather and the beautiful fall foliage. Off we went to the Iowa/Illinois border and the great Mississippi River. We enjoyed the drive over on the Grant Wood Scenic Byway. This bridge is where we crossed over into Illinois. It was an impressive structure.

Our ultimate destination was Mississippi Palisades State Park. Above is one of the trails that lead to the beautiful vistas below.

This is the view looking south along  the Mississippi River, you can barely make out the bridge we crossed in the distance. The cliffs were were standing upon were pretty much vertical, making the views amazing.

Tomorrow is World Card Making Day!! YAY!! Be sure and check out the Paper Crafts Connection blog for details on all the fun events!!! And I have something fun to share tomorrow as well!

My father in law, mother in law, brother in law, and sister in law all are here for a visit for the next several days. I am looking forward to the time of visiting and avoiding having to play board games. :) The little man is thrilled to have all the company and four more adults to get undivided attention from. Hope you have some great plans for the weekend!

thanks for stopping by!

Love the photos-- the one of the bridge is amazing. Actually our colors this fall aren't as pretty, due to the drought this summer. But a road trip to see Nature's wonders is great anytime :-)
