Baking

Banana Bread loaves

I love to bake, its so obvious lately. :) And so does the little man. He loves to help, well maybe I should say “help,” but he is getting better each time. :)

Banana Bread slices

Awhile ago, we made banana bread. This recipe is my grandmother’s and I love it. So, because everything I am making paper crafting wise cannot be seen, I am going to share another recipe.

Banana Walnut Bread

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 mashed bananas
  • 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped to your liking

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients, alternating with soda and water. Add mashed bananas and walnuts last. Bake in two greased bread pans. 350 degrees. 45 minutes.

It was great to hear that so many of you tried and enjoy the Blueberry Breakfast recipe last week! I love to hear your stories, so thank you!!

Have a very Happy 4th of July!! thanks for stopping by!
