sneaking in play time and completely flattered

I know, I am supposed to be working on projects for the MN State Kindergarten Teacher's Convention, but this little lantern was just calling to me. I am not sure if they work together, so, I took the photos separately-much better.

I found the lantern at the Target Dollar Spot. I knew it needed butterflies.
I made masks from Post It notes and then applied alcohol inks. It didn't really work. The inks soaked through the paper, or underneath the paper. I figured that I would try and stamp the outline in with StazOn. It was difficult to roll the stamp and get a complete image. Then I colored in the butterfly outline to lend to more definition. Not thrilled, but, stepping back and looking at it-it has a certain watercolor, dreamy look to it. (maybe)
The card is 4.5" square. I stamped the circles from PTI's Butterfly Kisses set in watermark ink. (The butterfly on the lantern is also from that set.) The sentiment is PTI Mixed Messages. The ribbon and butterfly are from Making Memories. The cardstock is Bazzill and Prism. Now for the flattered part...I received this award from two different people yesterday. I am blushing with comments that these two women have left me. They are as sweet as they are talented and I thank them from the bottom of my heart!!! Lynn and Julie

The idea of the award is to pass it on to 5 other bloggers whom you think are creative and contribute a lot to the blogging community:

Tamera Shaeffer at Tam's Crazy World-her doodling and mini book making is stunning.
Tami Floyd at Scrappin Every Moment-stunning layouts and layering.
Amanda LaBoy at Panda's Ponderings-very cool, always an unique touch on every layout
Deb Harter at Its Something Unpredictable-my sweet friend, she always creates classy work
Cheri Fletcher at Welcome to My Jungle-beautiful layouts, great style, awesome tunes :)

thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

I bought the same candle lantern at Target recently too, and have been having a hard time deciding what to do with it. Tried stamping it with Stazon, but it's NOT easy stamping round surfaces:)....I gave up on it but now you've inspired me to keep on trying. Do you live in MN??? I see you are going to be at some sort of school convention here, so don't know if you are from this area or not! I am from MN, so that's why I ask. I love finding the blogs of other MN girls!
