joy

Sorry! This project has been removed for publication. It will be in the December 2010 issue of ScrapStreet magazine.

I just had to make another one of these gift bags from the Paper Crafts 12 Designers of Christmas blog hop! It was so easy and SO much fun to decorate! If you want to download your own directions, click HERE.

I also wanted to play along with one of Hero Arts’ monthly challenges/contests. This month it is Everything Autumn and part of that includes simple gift bags. The Flickr group, where you load your projects, is full of not only talented stampers, but really nice people. I encourage you to check it out! Lots of prizes, challenges and fun! Onto the bag!

I started by creating the gift bag, using cardstock. Then stamped Music Background on each side, with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Snowflakes were stamped over that with Peeled Paint and the snowflake image from Get Merry. Each side was inked with Frayed Burlap distressing ink.

Continuing with the same ink colors, I die cut/embossed a Classic Circle Large from Spellbinders and stamped the snowflake and the word joy. A tree was stamped onto cardstock, cut out, and foam mounted.

I did the same thing with the trees along the bottom, except I added gems to the top of each tree. I love doing that. :) You can see that the trees are very splotchy in appearance, and its for two reasons, one the image is a little distressed. And two, the distressing inks do that. Its awesome. And perfect for this project.

thanks so much for stopping by!
