Lynn

oct 30 144
This is my aunt Lynn. My dear, beloved, funny, strong, courageous, amazing Auntie. Lynn left this life on Sunday, February 3. (I laugh as I write February, becuase she was the one who taught me how to spell it correctly when I was little.) She lost her battle with cancer. And while I am being incredibly selfish in wanting her back, she is no longer suffering, and so for that, I can find some peace with our loss.
Lynn had this ability to love that was remarkable. She just loved you. You. You for all your quirks and annoyances. But she always looked for the beauty within everyone. She hit rock bottom, fought her demons, and in her forties went back to college and earned her degree and became an RN. And she was good at it. So good. Her humor and compassion were perfectly suited for her dream job. Lynn also had the ability to bring laughter to any situation. There are many dear memories of her bringing my mom, sister, and I to fits of giggling and not being able to breathe. Her intelligence and wit were a gift. She always the best cereal in her house. And she let us eat it. Cookie Crisps, Captain Crunch, Fruit Loops, all the junk my mom never let us have. She could make a mean cherry coke as she always brought her favorite grenadine with her. Lynn loved to shop or more specifically, bargain shop. She made sure that she spoiled us rotten every chance she got. It might have often been tacky, but it made us smile and say, its Lynn! Everything was given with thought and much love.
It is still not real to believe that she is gone. It doesn’t seem right. But I am thankful for all the memories. For being able to know her and love her and be loved by her.The world is definitely a better place because she was in it.
I love you, Lynn.
