Welcome to the first day of the August Release Countdown from MFT Stamps! Over the next five days sit back and enjoy all the projects that the design team will be sharing. Each day we will be sharing peeks at new stamps and dies that will be available on Tuesday, August 4. This month feels pretty warm and tropical and has me dreaming of the beach.
Kicking things off this month is a great new set of stamps from Lisa Johnson called Scribble Roses. Its a great set of stamps that also has coordinating dies. The solid and open images in this set called out to my inner artist (I wish.) and I decided to take out my set Bali Gelatos and use them to stamp. With the tropical feel around here this month, these colors were required!
Gelatos are a creamy pigment for paper crafting. They are smooth, color fast, and can be activated with water. For the flowers and leaves I stamped with the Gelatos in two different ways. First by applying the color directly to my flower and leaf images. Water was then spritzed on the images before stamping. The second way is by coloring the medium to my craft mat and adding water. It creates an ink pad of color almost. Check out the video tutorial below and see how to stamp two ways with Gelatos!

One thing I do want to mention, because I was thrilled to see it work, is the sentiment. From the new set, Encouraging Words. I stamped it with Hybrid Black Licorice ink after my stamping dried. Look at the results! A solid image in intense color! Yay for hybrid inks!

Thank you for inspiring me to try gelatos
Gelatos aren't my favorite medium but you make it look so fun, I may just have to dig them out and play! Thanks, Kimberly!
Kimberly,
Love all the "new" MFT items shown on day 1 of the release. I also like your video showing the gelatos. I haven't worked with gelatos, but it looks like a product I would like to try.
Pretty card, and I love gelatos what a great idea to use them on this stamp set.
Great techniques Kim! I really need to get some Gelatos...they just look like too much fun!
Love the gelatos. The bright colors stand out on the black background.
Beautiful, Kimberly! A great video tutorial too.

Love the colors you chose! Such a pretty card. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful card, and thanks for the video, I have some gelatos that don't get any love so I'll definitely be trying this!
Very pretty.. I just love the look of gelatos.
Scribble Rose and Encouraging Words go hand in hand. I love the font of the sentiments.
You've been a busy beaver with those three projects. The first one was brilliant using the Chevron Cover All pointing the way to the focal image of the pineapple. Super job on all three.
fabulous how you create this background with gelatos!
