Tonight I am featuring Watercolor Flowers and Die-namics Watercolor Flowers. I had way too much fun, as you are about to see! The versatility of this set of stamps and dies is crazy awesome!
To create these watercolor roses, I began by stamping a more open-lined image from Watercolor Flowers onto watercolor paper using Wild Cherry ink. But before placing it to the watercolor paper, I stamped it off once on an extra piece of paper. I did this to remove some of the ink. It helped me achieve a more controlled look, because once the image was stamped, I used a water brush to move the color around. I followed the lines of the image, making sure to leave behind white space. Once I was happy with the results, I went back with a little more ink (pressed into my craft mat) and added some darker patches. The same technique was repeated with Sour Apple ink for the leaves. How gorgeous is that? I mean really. Its as close as I am ever going to get to creating a real watercolor piece! Yay for stamps!
This card was inspired by a photo on Instagram. The photographer was using white anemone flowers against dark wood grain. The results were gorgeous and I wanted to re-create that look.
I cut Primitive White cardstock with Die-namics Watercolor Flowers. I stamped the coordinating flower image in Grout Grey ink, to give the pale look of petals. Then I stamped the center in Pure Plum and spread the color a little with a water brush.
The stems were also cut from Primitive White cardstock using Die-namics Watercolor Flowers and the coordinating image from Watercolor Flowers was stamped in Field Day ink.
This card was an idea I had in my head. Wondering if I could layer gold on gold and it worked!
I stamped the solid base flower image from Watercolor Flowers in Delicata Gold ink, along with the leaves. To force the ink to dry faster, I heat set the ink. Then I stamped the coordinating inner flower image with Watermark ink, heat setting it with gold embossing powder. How cool is that effect? Gold on gold in tone on tone? Sweet!
ETA:
A video tutorial for this card can be found HERE.
And my final card, which may be my favorite, but don't tell the other cards. It was inspired by a piece of art work I found on Pinterest.
I applied Coral Crush and Razzle Berry inks to a large solid flower image from Watercolor Flowers and misted the images lightly with water. I stamped the wet images onto a watercolor paper panel. I repeated the process for all the larger flower images, just slightly adjusting how much dark pink I used each time. Once they dried, I went back with a water brush and added more ink to the outer edges of the flowers for more depth.
I continued by stamping the leaves and smaller yellow flowers in the same manner. The smaller yellow flowers are actually a flower center image, but it worked perfectly for this! The stems were hand painted with a water brush and ink. Another totally different look, just using different stamp images! Watercolor Flowers is brilliant!
