Welcome back! Who has spring fever? Oooh, me! Me! Today's products will kick your spring fever into overdrive and leave you dreaming of planting flowers and spending the afternoons outdoors!
Die-namics Spring Garden is a pretty cool set of dies! It lets you create many scenes of garden life from flowers, to tools, even a shelf! Instead of paper piecing cardstock, I thought it might be cool to try and water color the die cut images. To add detail through ink and not paper. While this isn't quite how I envisioned this turning out, I think the technique is cool and worth trying many more times until I get it the way I want!
I began by pressing my MFT Premium Dye inks into my craft mat and spritzing each color with water. (Colors will be in the supply list below.) Then I die cut the flowers and stems from water color paper. Paint brushes of various sizes were used to apply the ink. I repeated the same process for the watering can, which is also part of Die-namics Spring Garden.
The background of the card is also water colored. I applied inks in a wash to create a background scene for my flowers.
The fence is new! Its called Die-namics Garden Fence. It is much longer than this, I trimmed it down to fit the size of my card.
And finally the sweet sentiment from the latest Pure Innocence set, Heart Bouquet. It was stamped in Hybrid Black Licorice ink. I chose that ink because I knew if my water color wash background was still damp, this ink formula would not smear or run.
