MFT October Release Countdown: brown paper packages tied up with string

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

I have to confess that I wasn't quite ready to face the approaching holiday season, but as soon as I looked at all the fantastic product being released this month from My Favorite Things Stamps, I quickly started the Christmas play list and put Elf and White Christmas in the DVD player!

The moment I saw Christmas Label and Tags, I knew they had to be stamped in black to create a chalkboard look! And I love is that there is a set of coordinating dies, Die-namics Christmas Label and Tag. These two products are going to make wrapping Christmas presents a whole ton of fun for me! I love when all the packages under the tree coordinate. And as soon as I started stamping and die cutting, these all came together perfectly!

I cut Die-namics Christmas Label and Tag from Sweet Tooth cardstock first. Then I stamped the Christmas Labels and Tags image in Black Licorice Ink. Once it dried, I colored the flower and vines with color pencils. It adds such a nice finishing touch. Behind the tag is Die-namics Layered Vine Border cut from Gumdrop Green cardstock.

See the white background? I adore the latest background stamp called, Snowfall Background!! Eeee! At the top of the image the "snow" is closer together and then gradually spreads and spaces out towards the bottom! You should see what the team has created with this stamp so far! Gorgeous!

I stamped Snowfall Background onto my package with Sweet Tooth ink. I added twine and another vine border, along with one of the circle tags from Christmas Labels and Tags. I once again colored the white images with color pencils.

I repeated the same process for this last package, but added a band of Electric Red cardstock that was stamped with Darling Dots in Sweet Tooth Ink. (you just have to have polka dots!)

Head over to the MFT Blog for product images and videos, more information, a chance to win, and links to the rest of the team. I always say this, but wow! You have to check out everyone else's projects! Amazing!

thanks for stopping by!

I think the brown paper and use of the black ink was a great idea.

Kimberley! I've resolved for several years to use plain brown paper and this year I'm doing it and I have all these wrapping items except of course the new ones -- and I love the idea of the leaves and small clothes pins and twine!

It's almost a shame to open those packages. Notice I said "almost." Nice samples and I love the use of the clothes pins! :-)

What a gorgeous gift ensemble Kimberly! I love how you've created the wonderful chalkboard effect--it looks amazing with the pops of bright color and kraft bases! The twine, burlap and mini clothespins add such charm to them too! Very beautiful and very inspiring!! I can see why it was so easy to get into the Christmas spirit with these awesome MFT newbies!!! TFS!
