MFT Release Countdown: Let's Hang Out

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Today's card features another new set from Birdie Brown called, Let's Hang Out. How cute is she? Who can resist? I started by die cutting the girl image with Die-namics Let's Hang Out. Then I stamped her onto the die cut. I used Copic markers to color her.

The background was created by stamping the some of the other cute images from Let's Hang Out onto Kraft cardstock. I wanted the images to be in the background, so I stamped them in various ink colors and filled the images in with color pencil.

Want to add texture to your jeans when coloring with Copic markers? Its simple to do and you have the tools already on hand! Grab some blending solution, or a blending marker, and a paper towel. Apply the blending solution to the paper towel.

Immediately press the paper towel over the colored part of the image where you want the texture. Move the paper towel around, getting all the areas. And you will need to leave the paper towel in place for a few seconds. Pretty cool, huh? Make sure and do this before you finish coloring your images. As you can imagine, the color can bleed. Adding the texture before hand allows you to go back and fix little mistakes.

The Copic markers I used for those who want to know.

And one last detail from the card to share with you. I created the background using Die-namics Horizontal Stitched Strips. I am sure that I will come up with a million ways to use these Die-namics, but for today, I used them as-is. I stamped Darling Dots onto Gumdrop Green cardstock. Then I die cut the entire panel with the Die-namics. Great background treatment!

I am into my second box of tissues today, so again, this is short and sweet. I am looking forward to sharing tomorrow's projects with you, as I have a very cool idea! Be sure and head over to the MFT Blog and check out all the happenings!

thanks for stopping by!
